Why Hello, Mr. Lizard

Mommy has been on a cleaning spree lately. Watching her walking back and forth with a box in hand isn’t very odd. I just (rightly) assume it’s packed full of more books that are going to be swapped. Or maybe some junk she doesn’t quite want to get rid of. She freaked me out a bit when she burst out laughing and then ran to grab her camera, an empty box, and the dustpan. She took pictures of the front door while laughing, then swatted the door with the dustpan while holding the box.
My Mommy isn’t always the sharpest claw, but this took the catnip. I thought she’d lost it. Instead she had spied a guest:

Hellooo, Mr. Lizard! There was a lizard on the door’s curtain.

Mommy used the dustpan to knock him off the door and into the box. Sometimes she is just brilliant! I mean, as a human, she probably couldn’t have caught him with her paws, so she improvised. My Mommy’s very smart.

Of course I didn’t realize Mommy brought the lizard to me until I peered into the box to see what was making the scratching sound. As soon as I saw who it was I…introduced myself. Mommy has a collection of specimens she keeps in jars (which is an utter waste if you ask me) so I didn’t want to give her a chance to add Mr. Lizard to the collection. Although, if I’m not mistaken, she already has one of his relatives.

Have no fear, I didn’t gobble Mr. Lizard up. Okay, yes, I helped myself to a leg before I let Mommy take him away. But that’s it! I absolutely refuse to give Dr. Calista a reason to even think about prescribing me weight loss pills. She’s a nice human, for a vet, but the less time I have to see her the better. I’ve actually visited Dr. Calista and been on medications more time than Denali. This time there will be nothing wrong. My teeth are good, I’m not getting sick, and of course I’ll have my perfect weight as usual. This time it will be a straight in and out experience.

Mariuca,
Some aren’t slimy. But some definitely are. They are fattening though. They’re like human junk food – taste good but bad for keeping one’s figure.

So funny that your mommy brought you a toy to play with. the other day we had a lizard run in the house just as we were leaving but I haven’t seen him since. I wonder if my clawed friend ate it?
