She likes Ichigo by the way.

Ya know, my new baby brother. Not the shinigami from the anime series that my human likes that’s called Bleach. Although, yeah, that’s what inspired his name.

The kitten I very much loathe with all my might.

Seriously, I look at this annoying little guy and I wonder how it is I ever thought having a younger sibling might be fun.

He tries to hog Mom the moment she comes home, he tries to sleep with me in my sleeping spot he eats my food, makes a mess of my toys, and is just soooo UGH!

Grandma jokingly told Mom she should buy Ichigo some clothes because the anime character that is his namesake always has really cool outfits on when he’s not out kicking butt. So, Grandma said Mom should look for some punk or hip hop clothes but for cats and get him some. Mom thought it might be fun to get him an outfit.

These humans, they’re not funny.

Beside, since both Grandma and Mom are fans of Bleach they should know very well that Kurosaki Ichigo is a cool guy for an animated-human. He’s a substitute-shinigami and he kicks major butt and always saves the day. He’s tough. Ichigo the kitten is whiny, sleeps a lot, and is a total mama’s boy.

I just don’t see why Mom named him Ichigo. She should have left his name as Oppi. Even though Ichigo hated it and even Mom cringed at hearing it. The human girl who Mom adopted Ichigo from was trying to give the kittens names before giving them away, and while the other kittens responded to their names, Ichigo refused to respond to his. Can’t say I really blame him.

Still, I’m thinking Sirwhinealot would have been a better name for him. Or, I dunno, Dopey. Hmph.

Mom stopped at Petco on her way home from work today and she bought me some new canned cat food to try. I has never had this brand before, but hopefully it tastes yummy! She also bought me some new clothes. I thinks she wanted me to have something for the 4th of July which is what prompted this. Mom knows I’m not big on the clothes, but since she bought it and I already made her sad, I guess I can wear it without a fuss.

Yeah, I was a bad kitty today. I made Mom all mad first then sad. See that bag of treats up there in the picture? Well, I’ve been getting bad about coughing up hairballs lately so Mom must have thought treats that help with hairballs was a win-win situation. Well, she was wrong because those things don’t taste like treats at all – they’re not yummy at all and are actually kinda gross! I refused to eat ‘em and it upset Mom since these ones weren’t cheap at all. She let me have some of my regular treats instead, but I could tells she was still upset over it all.

Mom also says this is mine:

I thought she might be joking, but she’s serious – that’s all for me! I wonders what Mom will buy with it. More of my favorite treats? Maybe some of them Greenies treats which I haven’t had in a while? Ooh, or more canned cat food instead of the bag stuff? Or toys? Oh Mommy, you know how to make a kitty both very happy and feel very guilty at the same time! I must gives lots of purrs to Mom now so she knows I really do appreciate her gifts…even if one wasn’t what we thoughts it might be.

By now Mom usually has given me a furcut, but this year she’s been late on it. grrrr

I wants my furcut now Mom! It’s hot, I’m losing weight and not from the exercise. Not funny.

Of course, I do understands why she’s put it off for a bit now. She only really gets one day off, which is Sunday, so she’s got all kinds of other things to do on that day that she don’t get to do during the week. I gets that. But I wants my furcut!

Did you know she took a few days off recently? Yuppers, her and a friend went to see a broadway play called…wait for it….CATS.

Yes, she went to see a play where a bunch of humans jumped around on stage and pretended to be cats. Why she needed to see this instead of giving me a furcut, not to mention she has lovely me to watch, I has no idea. My human is weird.

In any case, Happy Halloween everyone! How will you be celebrating Halloween this year? Are you and your humans dressing up in costumes, scarfing candies and sweets, watching scary movies, or going to parties? Maybe you’re even camping out in a graveyard like my Mom did once when she was younger? Ooooh, if you are, I wishes you the best of luck! Remember, Zombies like brains but are slow moving. If people start popping out of the ground like daisies, your best bet is to run like mad!

This year, Mom is taking me to a Halloween party this afternoon. We’re only gonna drop in for a little bit ’cause some neighbors invited Mom to their Halloween Block Party and she doesn’t want to miss it. There’s gonna be a costume contest for the best-dressed kitty and doggy there. Mom is trying to dress me up in this tux outfit that comes with a little hat that can be strapped on my head. I hate it. Mom is forgetting that I’ve never really liked dressing up much. There’s some outfits I like, but that’s it. And this costume is definitely not it.

If I have to go in costume, I wanna go wearing Mom’s mask from last year:

It’s so cool looking and it’s sparkly too! It’s a big big on me on though. I has to hold my head just so to keeps it from falling off my whole body completely. As for wearing it on my face, well…..

I have to hold my head at a very high and awkward angle and Mom has to support my head and the mask to boot. It don’t make for a comfortable fit. But as you can see, I do look pretty spiffin’ in the mask, if I do say so myself.

I gots a bath earlier, and now that my furs dry, I’ve been relegated to the bedroom while Mom finishes gettin’ ready to go. She’s wearing some really weird outfit that requires this bit of stiff fabric around her waste makes her look way thinner, but also stiff and no-Mom at the same time. Her hair is all up in a funny complicated thing too and I dunno how she can stand being in the bathroom with the bright lights on and it still warm from her shower with out the bathroom fan on. But she spent a long time on her and I guess she doesn’t want it getting messed up in the mean time.

I’m not really looking forward to this party much right now, it sounds kinda stiff and boring. But the block party? Now that sounds like it’ll be fun. Why? Because there’s gonna be grilling and when there’s grilling there’s ribs, steaks, hamburgers, and hot dogs on the menu! I can’t wait!

Yuppers, that’s right, the tote bag came in today! See:

This is their small size and Mom’s laptop barely fits it sideways. So Mom will probably not be carrying her laptop in it, but books yes and other stuffs too. Over all I likes it. The print quality came out pretty good, although I am bummed that the border on the pictures in the logo isn’t checkered like the image Mom submitted,but solid. Guess it was too fine a detail for them to see? But really, for a free bag, this is awesome.

That wasn’t all that came in the mail today! Mom also got a second catalogs from Red Envelope advertising their corporate holiday gift ideas. We’re still not sure how she got on their mailing list. It would make sense if Grandma was getting it, ’cause she gets a lot of magazines and catalogs for businesses and supplies and stuffs, but not Mom. Most of the stuff there is just really out of Mom’s price range to be giving as “business gifts” too. But, it does have pretty stuff and Mom gives it to Grandma so she can get ideas.

The other real gem in the mailbox was a letter from a friend of Mom. The human-woman seems nice, I only met her once briefly ’cause she lives out of town. But anyway, she won a free gift card to Petco from a raffle she entered, and since she no have furry-friends, she gave it to Mom! Mom was happy to get the letter ’cause she hasn’t heard from her friend in a while and it had pictures in it. I was happy with the giftcard – free food!!! I can’t wait ’till Mom goes shopping again.

First of all, because I gots a lot of fur Mom always does my furcuts outside. Well, it was windy off and on today so sometimes my fur was flying around and getting in the way and sometimes it was laying flat. Most importantly though, Mom has these little things that attach to the clippers to let the human doing the furcutting adjust how much (or little) fur they want to cut off. Mom couldn’t find those things, so she just went ahead and cut my fur without the attachment. So my fur got trimmed a lot more then normal!

The wind is blowing the fur on my neck up, so it looks worse there then what it is. Mom left the fur on my neck and tummy a little longer then the rest. She, of course, left my tail alone completely too! But my furcut is uneven and you can see lines too. Mom says she’ll fix it better tomorrow, but she was “tired of eating my fur”. I think the wind kept blowing the loose fur in her face.

I wanted to get these pictures up sooner, but first Mom had to hunt down the USB cord for the camera. She lost it and hadn’t been able to upload photos lately. Well…. she thought she lost it anyway. Turns out she didn’t, it was where it should have been after all, she just thought she hadn’t puts it there like she was supposed to and looked everywhere else. Silly human.

Then Mom got sidetracked looking around online at websites like insurancespecialists.com for the Old Man. He gots in an accident yesterday. Don’t worry, he’s fine! His truck’s not though and he’s kinda wondering if he might have to say bye-bye to his insurance place ’cause he’s had a lot of accidents and he’s old too. Like old, old you know. Apparently he thinks he’s gonna loose it so he asked Mom to look around online for him and get him some quotes and stuff. Mom thinks he may just have to tough it out. She’s certain his payment is gonna go up and she’s hopping he doesn’t loose it altogether.

Sigh. The Old Man just needs to be more careful when driving! He had Mom drive him around today too and tomorrow as well probably. Hope he gets his truck fixed soon. Poor Mr. Old Man.

It’s cooled down a lots now, which is why I’m up and about again. Well, kinda sorta. See, it’s windy, but the wind is really warm. But it is cooler then what it was before. It’s all dark and cloudy out now with lots of thunder and wind. Might gets some rain! Mom says since the temp is getting so high I’m gonna have to get a furcut soon. She’s gonna dig out the clippers and gives me a furcut tomorrow. I’ll be sure to post lots and lots of pictures to show you the befores and afters of it!

ETA: Electricity went out so no fan or air conditioning. Ugh. It’s as hot outside as in now.

Denali thinks Mommy’s friends are funny. Here’s a news flash: Mommy’s friends aren’t funny, not in the least.

Since it’s getting pretty warm now, Mommy mentioned that she’d be giving Denali a furcut soon. This way Denali’s long fur doesn’t get all tangled in stuff when she’s outside more in the summer and also to keep her from getting too hot. Even though Denali doesn’t really like the process she always loves the results and is very happy to have her furcut for her. Mommy is thinking of doing it next week or the week after, if the temperature keeps getting warm.

Last year, here’s how much fur Denali got trimmed off:

Mommy gave me a trim once and I hated it. I looked nekid and everyone kept laughing at me when they saw me. Sure some went on to say I still looked like a pretty kitty, but they laughed at me. Well, one of Mommy’s friends, who also seems to think I’m an evil kitty and he always calls me “the attack-cat” suggested Mommy find the kitty-equivalent of www.hairgrowthshampoos.net to make my fur longer so I could get my furs cut too.

I now hate him very, very much. Much more then I used to too. I took great pleasure in sharpening my claws on his leg while he was here earlier.

But, in the end, I think he won this battle because Mommy listened to him. No, she’s not going to try and make my furs longer. Instead Mommy is going to give me a “little trim” along with Denali this year. Mommy seems to think it’ll help my fur to grow back nicer if I get a little trim. That and she’s got this thing about me cleaning too much (she always says I clean too much) so I think she really wants to do this to cut down on my cleaning. No fur to clean equals no cleaning maybe? It’s not like I get a lot of hairballs you know.

When that day comes, I plan on hiding like this:

Mommy says it’ll just be a little trim to keep my fur nice and help it grow back healthy and that I “won’t even be able to tell” ’cause it’s just a little bit going bye-bye. But you know what? I don’t believe her and I don’t want my furcut. Denali needs a furcut, yes, I agree totally. But me, I’m a pretty kitty. I don’t need furcuts!

I’m gonna get my revenge on him when he next visits Mommy. Attack-cat huh? I’ll show you attack-cat Mr-Your-Cats-Are-Evil. Oh yes, revenge will be mine!!!!

This morning, Denali and I went Easter egg hunting again this year and Mr. Easter Bunny left us some treat filled eggs again! Well, for the most part he did anyway. You see…

We think maybe the Stork forgot to deliver baby announcements to the appropriate Bird-parents and so their new baby got mixed in with our eggs. See, Easter eggs are supposed to be colorful and the third egg we found was definitely not colorful. After some deliberation, Denali and I came to the conclusion that the third egg must have been meant for Mommy. Perhaps Mr. Easter Bunny wanted to make sure Mommy ate breakfast? Well, actually, since the egg we found was bigger then any egg we’ve seen fall from a bird’s nest, Denali is convinced that it is the offspring of the dreaded Birdzilla (remember him?). So Denali thought that we should let Mommy have the egg because she’s tough enough to handle Birdzilla if he wants to pick a fight.

Scaredy-cat.

Mommy made us a special Easter lunch and we got treats from Mommy too. Including some new mice and some ‘nip. But the best gift of all was a new dress! You can see it better in this picture:

It says “Drama Queen” on the back and has a pretty pink bow with a heart crystal attached to the left shoulder. I love it! Mommy ruined the moment though when she mentioned that this would also be the outfit I wear when we go to the vet. Dr. Calista likes seeing me in my different outfits, so every year we go, I wear something new.

I know what you’re thinking, ’cause I thought it too when I heard Mommy talking on the pone. But no, Mommy isn’t going to sell us. Actually, the people don’t want to keep the cats they buy either. It’s a modeling agency for pets and they’re in need of feline models!

Mommy gave them a call and now Denali and I have appointments for Friday. I have no idea what’s going to happen or what they’ll do there, but I’m nervous and excited about it!

Denali is grumpy though and not looking forward to it all.

While in town Mommy saw something sad and frightening. There was this white pickup truck weaving in and out of the busy traffic and there was a doggy in the back getting knocked around!

I’ll be honest, I don’t like doggies much at all, but even I know that leaving a doggy in the back of a truck while speeding down busy streets and coming to quick stops is dangerous and cruel to doggies.

Mommy was very upset to see the doggy almost fall out of the truck several times while she was behind it.

I hope the doggy made it home alright. I know humans like to let doggies ride in the back of trucks, but in the city and going real fast is not a treat for the doggy, it’s a murder attempt.
