So Mom had an unexpected day off, which was nice. Especially since she’s got a cold. SHe spent the day resting mostly, read the paper in bed too and watched movies from Blockbuster. I was quick to cover up the newspaper when I saw ads in the classifieds for veterinary assistant jobs. Not that Mom would have been interested or anything, but anything that reminds her of the Vet has the chance to persuade her to take me to the vet for something. Mom has been worried about me since I lost a little weight and my furcoat is thinner. I chalk it up to Ichigo-induced-stress. Mom thinks I might be sick. So I was very quick to lay on the newspapper and distract her. It worked too! We then watched X-Men: First Class. I’m a smart and sly kitty.

What makes this worse is the heat isn’t on here ’cause well, it’s still been hot. So it’s kinda cold out, Mom had the cooler on earlier because it was stuffy and her nose was funny. But now it’s really cold in here and there are some leaks in the house too! Yup, bust out with the weather floor mats…or actually, buckets and towels, we’ve got three leaky spots in the roof!

And one of them was over my bed and it’s all wet now and even though Mom moved my bed it got wet, so I can’t lay in it, and the spot where my bed was at is taken by a bucket.

I asks you, is it too much to ask for a kitty to have a nice comfy house to nap in?

Sometimes she’d doze off, but that’s it. So Ichigo and I had to behave and try not to disturb her when she managed to nap for a bit. The tv got left on and it was on a boring channel that seemed to have nothing but infomercials, shopping shows, and commercials. The shopping shows were all boring. The infomercials were for boring or stupid stuff. And the commercials – nothing but drugs for this and that sickness, applying for title loans Utah and California (which is not where we live!), new cars, and some jewlery. I was ever so glad when Mom turned the tv off and got up to make another kettle of water for tea!

I wonder if Mom will stay home tomorrow too? Despite the droning and boring tv, it was nice having her here all day.

And she’s still got all these other bills and planned expenses she’s gotta take care of too. Poor Mom! Looks like she’s gonna be going to that place regularly for a while. That Place stabs Mom with a needle and takes stuff outta her but pays her for it. She calls it plasma, but I’ve seen the needle mark on her arm and smelt the blood drawn so I think she’s confused on what they’re doing to her.

Humans are so weird. Why do they pay each other for that anyway? Are they really that bad of hunters?

Now, I probably shoulds pick out a nice picture of the twerp that highlights his…um…good…qualities. Problem is, I’m not a nice big sister. Especially since this guy just stole my treats again! So, I will instead introduce Ichigo with pictures taken from Ichigo’s second day here…after Mom found a couple of ticks and fleas on him.

Yuppers, my baby brother was not a happy kitten that day. Sadly enough, he didn’t let it get him down for long. Then he was purring and being lovey-dovey with MY MOM again. Hmph.

Ichigo didn’t get no kitty-equivalent of dead sea minerals or anything like that either. It was a straight forward and simple flea and tick bath using the stuff from Hartz. I kinda sympathized a little, what with the whole getting wet and stuff. But honestly, I hate those little itchy and bitey bugs that make me feel as dirty as a doggy. So I’m glad Mom gave him a bath right away upon finding Ichigo’s hitchhikers.

Well, Dr. Castro was a nice lady and the stabbing shots didn’t hurt too much….but still, it was horrible!

And of course Mom had to take pictures of the whole thing!

Here’s Mom trying to get me into the cat carrier before we leave for the vet. Ha! She wasn’t very fast and I tolds her what I thought about all this.

Alas, in the ends, Mom wins. At least she used the soft case, which is like a bag and has mesh on the sides for me to look out. It’s much cooler then the plastic one.

Even though this carrier was cooler it was still horrible going to and coming back from the vet’s office. Mom don’t have air conditioner in her car no more so it was very hot. Well, she had windows rolled down, but it was still hots. And there Mom was, dressed from head to toe in black clothes. Black jeans, black long-sleeved AC/DC thermal shirt. Ugh. And she didn’t seem to feel the heat at all. I don’t knows how she does that. But that’s Mom for you, she’ll wear dark colors and long sleeves even in 100+ degree weather.

I tried to escape on my own but it wasn’t working too well. And then the door began to open and in came Dr. Castro:

I really missed my big sister Isis. She was always really good at keeping me calmed down. I guess because she always treated these trips like it was no big deal. This was the first time I’ve gone on my own without big sister there and it just wasn’t the same at all without her.

I left a lot of hair on Mom for revenge though! And Mom got some kind of treat for me from the vet which I’m gonna get latter. Right now I’m enjoying a can of salmon and rice kitty food as my reward.

I guess, overall it wasn’t so bad….but boy am I glad this is over.

Well, I founds out today what it’s gonna be used for and I am not amused. Turns out Mom scheduled an appointment for me at Dr. Calista’s and she managed to keep this fact a secret from me until just today. Worst yet, my appointment is right after the upcoming holiday of barbecueness so Mom knows I won’t be trying to hide right away either!. WAAIIII!!

On Wednesday, Mom is taking me to get stabbed! They’re gonna give me all of my shots too, rabies, feline leukemia annual vaccination, and the fvrcp one too!! They’re stabbing me three times!!!

The $100 bill is what Mom set aside to cover the vet bill.

I can’t believe you would be so cruel Mom!!

See, this is a picture of me by my chair. I liked it ’cause it was a cozy worn chair known as a recliner. It was always so soft and warm. I could sleep there all days – no problem. But the chair was kinda broken a little. Right where the part pops out so peoples can put their feet up. You can see it in the picture. Well Mom decided it was time for new furniture cause some it is actually older then Mom and kinda in bad shape. So Mom has been trying to get some new stuff in. She’s not gonna get anything fancy like home theater stuff from jsp furniture ’cause the living is actually kinda small and, well, she don’t have a whole lot of those green papers if you know what I mean.

So Mom has been keeping an eye out for stuff at second hand stores and garage sales. She hasn’t found a replacement for the chair yet, which is why I didn’t think she’d get rid of it. But apparently the Old Man is coming by tomorrow and they’re taking the chair to the dump so since Mom had to get the Boogeyman out she decided to haul the chair out now and clean underneath it too.

I wish she would of asked my opinion on the matter before hand. Sneaky chair thief.

• When you go to the vet, do you have to: pay a percentage of the bill and they cover the rest; does you provider cover it all up front; or do you have to cover it and then get reimbursed?
• What does your provider cover and what does it not cover?
• What have your experiences with your provider been like? Any stories to share, bad or good?
• What kind of information does your provider require in order to cover a pet?
• What kind of animals will they cover? Purebreeds, mixed, above a certain age (or below) – what?

I’ve never been much of a indoors kitty. I like going outside for hours on end and any day where I have to stay in all. day. long. just sucks.

Well, since my sister passed away Mom has been trying to make an indoors-kitty out of me. I understand that she’s lonely, so I didn’t mind that my days outside were drastically reduced – too much. But now there are some strays that think they live here. Three of ‘em to be exact. And well, I’m a pretty good boxer ifs I do says so myself…but I tend to loose most fights when claws get involved. I just don’t like using claws on my fellow furries or humans. So when Mom noticed I had some scratches on my face from those meanies she got crazy and said “that’s it, you stay inside now!” and so I have becomes an indoor kitty.

My scratches healed just fine, one was close to my eye though and really scared Mom. I only get to go outside now when Mom is outside and I have to stay within sight or it’s back in for me. How is this fair at all? I know she does this because she worries, but it’s just not fair. And one of those strays that visits looks like he could be on one of those really long commercials they show late at night on the t.v. for face wash for acne. He’s got a lot of scabs, and sores on his face. Mom really doesn’t like him around at all. He’s the one Mom is really trying to catch in a trap and taken to a shelter. Poor guy.

The Old Man came to visit and he left food outside for me again, thinking I was outside because he’s used to me being outside a lot. Mom went crazy and scooped up the food so the strays wouldn’t get it. She won’t let me eat outside at all either. Trash is tightly sealed in the trashcans with the lids secured. Nothing to encourage them to stay she says.

I think it’s ’cause our nearest neighbors leave food out in those dispensers for their doggies all day. So the stray kitties go there to eat, then come over here to relax because it’s safe from doggies. Shizuku is back at the other house right now so it’s just Mom and me. I want Shizuku to come back here, when he’s around no one messes with me. But Mom says the yard is too small and the house even smaller, so it’s cramped quarters for him here.

I miss hunting, running free in the grass and field behind the house, climbing trees, and sun bathing on the roof. Oh sweet outside!
