The doctors had said Isis was looking better last night, and that what caused her illness was not heart-related and likely a kidney problem, but they couldn’t be sure because they had to do a test after she was off the IV stuff.

I don’t gets it. Isis had improved and Mommy and I were going to go see her and wish her a speedy a recovery and now my sister’s gone and she’s not coming back. I want Isis to come back.

I, I’ll be back laters. Right now my Mommy needs me and isn’t handling things too well. Thank you to all our furriends who sent their love and purrs for us during this time.

Right now they don’t know what’s wrong. They’re running tests so Mommy has to wait for them to call her. What they did tell her wasn’t too good.

There is liquid in Isis’ lungs which was why she was having trouble breathing. She’s what the humans call dehydrated too so they have her on IV fluids and she’s in an oxygen tank to help with her breathing. They’re taking x-rays and doing other test-stuff and hope to have somethings to tell us soon.

My big sister is a lot older then me, she turns 15 human years this year in fact. The vet warns that right now it could be a lot of things, like heart problems, kidney failure, or something. I don’t think it is, I mean, it can’t be, right? Isis has always been pretty healthy and tough. So she’s gonna be okay right?

Mommy is really worried. Not only is Isis sick-sick and in need of help, but Mommy is worried over the bill. She put some down but doesn’t know how she’ll pay the rest of it as she’d just finished paying bills so what bit she has is gone. Lot’s of worries for Mommy and me right now.

I has to apologize for us not blogging in a while. Mom’s been busy with a side-job that has really eaten up her spare time. And since she works off her laptop, well, when she’s gone it’s gone and then we’re without a computer. But Mom’s been negligent with her blog too so we’re not the only bad ones!

Today isn’t looking too good for my big sister. She was okays yesterday in the day, even gots to go outside and lounge on the outdoor furniture, eat grass, and nap in the sun. Everything was fine!!! Then in the middle of the night she woke me and Mom up and started throwing up all over the place. First she threw ups food she ate then it was just gooey stuff Mom calls “bile”. Then she went to lay in her bed and just stayed there unmoving. Wouldn’t eat or drink, won’t move unless you touch her, and then it’s only a little move of her head. And if you try to touch her too much she kinda whine-growls at ya.

Now, Mom got really kinda worried and wants to take her to see Dr. Callista even though Mom really doesn’t have the money for it – but Isis is hiding. Mom thinks she’s under the couch or in the closet but hasn’t found her yet. Since Isis is now hiding we know she is really, really sick because when it’s just a kitty-cold or upset tummy Isis loves attention. But if she hides away, well then she has to be very sick. So Mom is kinda scared but trying not to be. She’s gonna give Isis another hour to come out on her own (’cause the vet isn’t open yet anyway) then she says she’ll have to haul her out. Mom is very worried because Isis is getting pretty old so every time she’s sick Mom is twice as worried as she normally would be. Not fun.

Hopefully Isis will come out on her and all will be okay, or Dr. Calista will just give her a shot or something and she’ll get all betters.

Isis’ big sister Misty used to open closed doors. She’d stand up on her back paws and turn the knob with her front paws. The humans always talk about how only a locked door could keep Misty out even to this day. Wonder what he’d do if we learned her trick?

While they were heres Isis was playing with an empty cup ramen box. Mom went shopping teh other night and ‘course she bought more ramen. Well, when she put it up in the cabinet she left the box in the bedroom for me and Isis to play with it. But Isis didn’t share. She been rolling in it and sleeping in it and pouncing it. But she won’t let me have it. Meanie. That’s okay though, Mom left some clothes on the floor that were comfy. Hmph!

Some of Mom’s friends say that Mom is a bad influence on us kitties. Says we’re gonna becomes ramen addicts like her. One human even says Mom is gonna end up needing cholesterol treatment someday ’cause of all the ramen she eats. Dunno about that. Mom eats a lot of ramen ’cause it’s cheap. But she also buys a lot of noodles and makes noodle dishes. Not to mention she eats a lot of grains, like rice, and she makes beans in the crock-pot a lot too. I thinks they just like to tease her. Whatcha think?

I thinks she just needs to get outdoors more. I know that’s how I’m getting rids of the belly fat I gots over the winter.

Since I gets outside daily now and for longer periods of time I gets to eat more greens. Go greens! It’s so nice to have a green yard again.

I also get to do hunting now, which is good exercise, because lizards are fast, and you have to be light on your feet to get them birdies. No sign of birdzilla around here either so it’s birdie season! I tried to get Mom to hunt with me and told her it’s good exercise but she just laughs and pets me, then sends me on my way and watches me at it. Mom doesn’t seem to understand that it is not a spectator sport.

And of course, climbing and stretching is very helpful too. Strengthens your legs and gets the blood flowing. Plus it gives you a chance to sharpen your claws too. Great fun!

This is the way to exercise Mom, not those funny things you do called “crunches”. At least she’s got the running and walking part right. Ah, I’ll teach her how to exercise right someday.

Mommy is of the firm opinion that they’re trying to jinx her into actually needing them. That’s evil.

But, as evil as that is, it’s nothing compared to what we found in the stack of mail on Mommy’s desk a few minutes ago:

It looks like a nice and innocent postcard, but it’s not. Here’s what this evil, evil thing says on the back:

In case you’re having trouble reading the tiny print, the post card says: This is an important reminder about your pets. According to our records, they are due for the following treatments or examinations… And it says that both Denali and I are due for our Feline Leukemia Annual Vaccinations.

Since Denali goes outside and can run into other kitties Mommy feels that getting our shots is imperative. But I don’t want to go and get stabbed again. Yes, Dr. Calista is a very nice human….for a vet…but that doesn’t mean I actually want to go and and get poked and prodded and stabbed.

Mommy hasn’t made appointments yet (thankfully!) because she’s gotta save up some money for it first, but I know she’ll find a way to get our shots. I would much rather Mommy spend that money on catnip or bills or something other then getting us poked with sharp needles!

First off there’s the amount of tea she’s been drinking. The teakettle has been whistling all day long at all hours of the day. She’s drunk enough tea to probably fill the bathtub. Secondly, she’s very restless. She won’t sit still which makes trying to curl up in her lap, around her feet, or on her shoulders near impossible.

She’s also done other weird things too. Things which seem normal, but for Mommy they’re not. Mommy doesn’t always remember to put on the smelly stuff that makes skin smooth when she goes to bed. In fact, she rarely does, but every night for the past three days she’s been regularly putting on that smelly stuff humans call face cream. She removed all her old nail polish and then trimmed and buffed her human-claws to perfection. She mumbles to herself, she’s picked out a fancy outfit, ironed it, and placed it in a plastic cover-thingy to keep any of our hair off it too.

What’s the deal? I don’t really understand it myself. I know it involves some place called “court” that she’s gotta to on Monday and that she’s had to go before and this is the final time apparently. I know it might involve the green stuff too, because she’s been fretting over (and I quote) “…the ruling being against me, how will I pay?”. Mommy isn’t too clear on what it’s all about but she is very high strung right now. I devised an exercise for Mommy to help her relax and I think it’s helping as she does always seem to be laughing afterward. Here’s how you perform it:

Step 1: Roll onto your back while keeping your feet pointing to your right. Only your upper torso should roll. Feeling the relief yet? Just wait, it gets better!

Step 2: Now curl up your toesies and twist! Now your lower body should be completely pointing opposite of your top.

Step 3: Now, arch your back and begin uncurling your legs and feet, but be sure to keep ‘em in the same direction! Feel those pops? That’s the sound of all those kinks getting worked out! Be sure to bring your tail up to touch your cheek, this guarantees that you’ve arched to the maximum.

Now, doesn’t that feel good? All the kinks are out and you should be feeling as loose and flexible as a fish in water. Ooh, fish. I’m going to go get Mommy started on her exercise now so I can get her to fix up a can of salmon kitty food for me. Keep doing the exercise as much as needed and be sure to pass it on to your humans too!

But now I think I might have them too well trained.

I had a cold last week. I kept sneezing, I couldn’t keep things down, and I slept a lot. Not really odd, I tend to get sick easy. This morning I went outside on the leash for a walk and the grass was wet. I was so excited because fresh wet grass tastes yummy. Then I sneezed. Sure it was several sniffles back to back and my nose got runny, but I was fine!

The way Mommy acted, you would have thought I was recovering from Mesothelioma treatment not a kitty-cold, something that I get multiple times a year without fail. So since the grass was wet, and I sneezed, in we went. Mommy dried off my paws, gave me some kitty vitamins then opened a can of my favorite cat food as an “apology for taking me outside when it was wet”. I wanted to be outside in the wet Mommy!

So now what do I do? How do I unbreak my Mommy of this suffocating behavior. Any suggestions?

She got a package of new cat treats called Feline Greenies for Denali and I to try.

I got to try them out first (Take that Denali!) and they were delicious – especially since the ones she got were Oven Roasted Chicken flavor. Yum!

They’re green and shaped like funny-looking fish, but don’t let the looks fool you. These things are absolutely delicious. Best of all, they’re very healthy and they help keep your teeth clean too.

I’ve had trouble keeping my teeth clean for years now and even had to get a tooth pulled once. As such, I feel that I should get priority over Denali when it comes to these treats. I heard Mommy talking about these things before they actually arrived. She sounded so excited to get a sample packet of Greenies. At the time I was curious what she was talking about. Now I can’t help but wonder what this Kettlebell thing is that Mommy and Grandma have been talking about. Is it another treat for little ol’ me?

Isis is very excited because this means she can go on road trips with Mom again. I like riding in the car for little short trips, like to the post office, but not long trips. Isis loves them though and missed traveling with Mom. As soon as we got the good news about the car Isis demanded Mom take her on a trip. I’m thinking Isis had something like those New Orleans, Pasadena, or Orlando vacations though. You know, a long trip that would involve a lot of driving, staying in nice hotels, and lots of sights to see.

But Isis forgot one of Mom’s important rules: only clean kitties travel:

Mom doesn’t like a lot of fur, dirt, or *shudders* fleas left behind in her car. If a simple lint brush won’t clean the seat then the kitty is very dirty in her book. She’s got a lot of books too. So Isis got watered down and then lathered up.

Grandma is the one that actually gave the bath. Isis gets fussy with Mom but she’ll behave for Grandma. Weird, considering Grandma rarely gives treats after a bath and Mom always does. Go figure.
