Apparently, at the last one she went to it was a business-related one and just a one-day thing. BUT the humans who went to that event got discounts and stuff for upcoming stuffs. Grandma has a few stocks and IRAs and other stuffs like that and those who went to the previous seminar got to attend this upcoming one about stocks and stuff at a reduced price. $99 versus like $1,000. Apparently there is this website provided by “Wealth Magazine” that makes managing stocks and stuff easier. Grandma really wanted to go, Mom could care less but since she’s a guest of Grandma’s she can go free.

I think Mom is also going to give these stock things a try too. *nods* She says she’d probably buy only a few shares of a stock or two though.

And no that makes no sense to me either. I’d have more luck understanding all those big words in a murad review then the stocks thingy. I do, however, understand that it is way to get money (that’s those green papers humans need to buy stuff). I understand that! But when I saw the “Stock Report” in the newspaper it just confused me. Too many numbers! And watching it on the tv was worse!

Anyway, Mom will be gone for most of Friday and Saturday and so Isis is already depressed. I can’t blame her. When Mom is gone we get locked in the house all day with nothing to do but sleep, eat, and play with our toys. Oh, and no one to play with but each other. And believe me, Isis is no fun to be around when she’s moody. It’s going to be a very long Friday and Saturday. Hmph!

I wish Mom was going to a more fun seminar like the BlogPaws 2010 Conference. It’s a conference for pet bloggers that is gonna take place on April 9th & 10th in Columbus, Ohio. Now that would be a fun conference to go to, right? Mom entered the sweepstakes to win a trip, and I hope she wins the grand prize, because then we could go. Is anybody reading this going to attend? If so, what are you and your humans looking forward to? For those not going, would you like to go and if yes, what would you like to see/do there?

Actually, even if Mom won, I dunno if Isis and me would gets to go. Mom is very, very terrified of pets flying on airlines. I know that some airlines lets humans keep a pet on the plane in their seat if they stay in their lap though. Mom would probably go that route, but then only one of us would get to go. I wonders who she’d take, me or Isis?

So Denali and I have been hesitant about clicking on any links in emails from anyone we don’t know. Because sometimes, we get stuff that says “Get a free sample of ‘some random yummy treats’, just click here” (like that!) but then the link leads elsewhere and has nothing to do with what it said it did.

However, I found an email today that was sent by a human who visited our blog.

Well I looked at the site and it’s called Coupon Cat and it’s gots a bunch of coupons and deals that kitties will want their humans to take advantage of. It looks like it’s kept up to date too, and there are some non-kitty coupons there too so you can treat your humans for being good. There’s a couple that I want Mommy to get too.

So, I thought I’d pass this site on to everyone else. Some of these coupons mentioned we can’t use ’cause we’ve never seen/heard of the products before so they must not be sold around here. Oh, and there’s stuff for doggies too.

Anyway, hope some of our furriends can get some good treats and stuff from here!

By the time I was born Isis had been attending college classes with Grandma a few times and when Mom went to college she tried to attend with her too. But that’s not the way for a kitty to go about getting an edumacation though. The real way to do it is to take a test online and get a high school diploma online like Oreo did!

Oreo is a very smart kitty and didn’t spend her time playing on human treadmills to make funny videos like some kitties do. Instead she studied and got a diploma! She’s so cool! I bet her humans are very proud of her too. Unfortunately she hasn’t had a chance to put it to use yet.

Hang in there Oreo, you’re a smart kitty so I know you’ll do fine!

Come May 2nd, Mommy will have been waiting for them to call her for two months now without any work.

I might not be that well informed of a kitty, but even I know times are tough. Now it looks like those tough times are hitting more than just the humans. Animals at the Bronx Zoo in New York are being “laid off” and being shipped off to other zoos and centers since they’re going to be closing four exhibits there. And this isn’t a temporary fix either, it’s a permanent one.

If a zoo that is as well-known and supported as the Bronx Zoo is being forced to do this how long is it going to be before others follow? Will there even be a home for these guys to go to? Surely other zoos are hurting just as much. I think they should “trim the fat” so to speak and cut back the salaries on all the humans at the top of the food chain there who sit around behind fancy desks and take home big checks. That money should go to keeping those exhibits open and making sure those animals don’t loose their jobs and livelihoods. Better yet, give the animals jobs in finance. I bet you anything, those lemurs, foxes, deer, and porcupines will do a much better job at handling the finances at that zoo then those humans are right now.

But all doggies, even the best of guard dogs, are very gullible:

See what I mean? I would have thought they’d know better than to take food from strangers. Not even Denali will accept treats from humans she doesn’t know, and she, like dogs, tends to think with her tummy a lot. I can’t figure out why those humans would steal a bunch of guns though, unless maybe they were going to hit a jewelry store soon? Hmph. I always thought it was silly for those stores to have elaborate window displays for engagement rings and shiny diamonds. That’s asking for trouble.

I’m just glad mommy doesn’t really care for that stuff. So there’s no reason for mean humans with guns to try and come and steal our stuff.

Case in point, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has some kind of movement going to get fish renamed as SEA KITTENS!!

The point of this madness is to get people to stop eating fish and to stop fishing too. PETA folks think eating fish is bad and they think that a new name would improve the fishies’ self-image. Their logic is that by putting fish on the same level as us pretty kitties people will stop eating them.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants to rename fish as “sea kittens” to improve their image. “Nobody would hurt a sea kitten,” PETA says on its website. “People don’t seem to like fish.[...]

Um, I guess they forgots that there are people who would hurt a “sea kitten”. After all, there are some scary people with a tradition of eating cats.

This brings up an interesting question though. If “fish” get called “sea kittens” and are considered kitties, does that make me a cannibal? Why must these sillies humans mess with my mind so! Fish are fish and that’s that. They taste dang good and are meant to be eaten. I mean really, what’s next, calling kitties doggies? *shudders*
