Ichigo has torn up the oven mits in the kitchen the other day. They were really nice thick ones, which The Old Man jokingly called wannabe-tillman gloves ’cause they were nice and thick and long. Ooh, was Mom pissed.

Then he broke three coffee mugs of Moms when he knocked down the drying rack. And that was just the stuff he’s done on Sunday. Oh yeah, he’s in teh dog house too.

I think Ichigo has chased Mom off too, ’cause today, she didn’t come home until late in the evening. I wonder what’s up with that.

But yeah, long story short, kitties are in trouble in this house. But, I think Mom is starting to cool down again. Plus, holidays were hectic too. That didn’t help Mom none neither.

What makes this worse is the heat isn’t on here ’cause well, it’s still been hot. So it’s kinda cold out, Mom had the cooler on earlier because it was stuffy and her nose was funny. But now it’s really cold in here and there are some leaks in the house too! Yup, bust out with the weather floor mats…or actually, buckets and towels, we’ve got three leaky spots in the roof!

And one of them was over my bed and it’s all wet now and even though Mom moved my bed it got wet, so I can’t lay in it, and the spot where my bed was at is taken by a bucket.

I asks you, is it too much to ask for a kitty to have a nice comfy house to nap in?

Mom stepped outside to smoke one of her smelly sticks. At least it wasn’t one of them swisher sweet cigars, or the other flavored ones she sometimes smokes. Those things are strong and the sweet scent of peach, strawberry, or cherry makes it worse on my kitty nose. This time though it was a cigarette, not quite as powerful.

Well, if I didn’t know Mom was stressed before, I do now. Dead giveaway Mom is stressing over something – she smokes.

At least Mom goes outside to do that stuff and she’s fixing to take a shower (silly humans gets soaking wet to get clean) so the smell won’t linger for much longer. Still, I don’t likes it when she does that.

They’ve been there, sitting on the shelf, nice and safe for some time now. I like to climb on the bottom two shelves, but never the top ones. Mom knows this, and yet, she still gave me the stink eye when they ended up on the floor the other day. She didn’t punish anyone though ’cause she didn’t know who did it.

Well, this evening, when she came home, her foot kinda found the glasses that were on the floor with a loud and not so healthy crunch.

Mom was not amused.

She keeps looking at me like it was my fault too. But it wasn’t me!

Ichigo got up on the top shelves and was playing there again, not me. He knocked them and played with ‘em, not me. He left them where Mom would step on them, not me. Yet now Mom is looking at me all disapointed like and I got no treats.

I guess I could have batted them outta the way or something, but I forgot all about them to be honest. I’m sorry your friend’s eyeball covers were destroyed Mom, but it wasn’t me.

Mom has an electric grill that is small enough that, even if it’s really bad weather outside, she can bring it inside and still grill. Mmm, grilled meat. Yummy. Most of the time though it’s left outside its own little table. But you can’t see it well at all because it’s behind the house and has a tarp over it when she’s not using it. Thankfully it was still there, so Mom went and brought it in the house and now it’s sitting in the kitchen. Mom and one of our neighbors, and an old couple, are the only ones whose grills weren’t stolen.

They figure they were all stolen within days of each other. So some humans have like five grills now from the people that live around here. That’s messed up.

I’m really glad our grill was still here though! Because Mom had plans to do some grilling this weekend. Still, I feel bad for some of our human neighbors. One of ‘em, the one who came to let Mom know what was going on, is an awesome cook and even though their house ain’t that close to us (several acres away) when he’s grilling he cooks up a storm and you can’t help but smell it across the field. And, he usually brings some to Mom too! It’s a crime to steal from such a nice human who cooks so good!

From whats I understand, social security is supposed to be there for the humans for when they’re all old and can no longer works.

Don’t worry Mom, I can’t really relate, but I get why you’re mad.

But, that’s not all that happened today. Apparently some folks who typically don’t work on the weekend worked today, so Mom didn’t get a break from some of her more…stressful co-working-humans. They were scheduled to work today too, and they did, and it wasn’t even that busy today either. So they weren’t needed.

Then there were some humans that took out their frustrations on Mom and a couple who were mad that she wouldn’t break her banks’ policies for ‘em. One in particular went and complained to the branch manager but nothing was said to Mom so she’s hoping she won’t get in trouble for it.

Mom and the other humans don’t mix too well, not sure why, but from whats I understand there is one human whom everyone has to play nice with or she’ll dock your hours and gets you in trouble. A couple of other humans Mom worked with tried to take the complaint to humans above that one….and were all fired in the same week.

So yeah, Mom don’t like none of the humans there. Says she makes nice but trusts ‘em all less then she can throw ‘em. And she’s pretty sure they don’t care much for her either, like she’s just a stray that’s wandered in and won’t go away. Not worth their time but nothing to worry about either. So Mom tries to to keep to herself and stay out of trouble because stuff will come down harder on her then anyone else.

Poor Mom.

She’s trying to look for another job, thing is, to hold another job she’d have to have written permission from one of her head honchos. Basically telling them she wants outta there. And when she applies for a job, apparently all jobs ask about past employment and they may call to verify that she works there and if she never got the written permission…. Yeah, Mom would be in deep doody.

Mom says she’s gonna try and tough it out at least until she’s been there a full year. But she’s hoping they have positions open up at other branches so she can get away from the humans she works with right now.

She likes Ichigo by the way.

Ya know, my new baby brother. Not the shinigami from the anime series that my human likes that’s called Bleach. Although, yeah, that’s what inspired his name.

The kitten I very much loathe with all my might.

Seriously, I look at this annoying little guy and I wonder how it is I ever thought having a younger sibling might be fun.

He tries to hog Mom the moment she comes home, he tries to sleep with me in my sleeping spot he eats my food, makes a mess of my toys, and is just soooo UGH!

Grandma jokingly told Mom she should buy Ichigo some clothes because the anime character that is his namesake always has really cool outfits on when he’s not out kicking butt. So, Grandma said Mom should look for some punk or hip hop clothes but for cats and get him some. Mom thought it might be fun to get him an outfit.

These humans, they’re not funny.

Beside, since both Grandma and Mom are fans of Bleach they should know very well that Kurosaki Ichigo is a cool guy for an animated-human. He’s a substitute-shinigami and he kicks major butt and always saves the day. He’s tough. Ichigo the kitten is whiny, sleeps a lot, and is a total mama’s boy.

I just don’t see why Mom named him Ichigo. She should have left his name as Oppi. Even though Ichigo hated it and even Mom cringed at hearing it. The human girl who Mom adopted Ichigo from was trying to give the kittens names before giving them away, and while the other kittens responded to their names, Ichigo refused to respond to his. Can’t say I really blame him.

Still, I’m thinking Sirwhinealot would have been a better name for him. Or, I dunno, Dopey. Hmph.

Now that I’ve gotten all my shots up to date, Mom said she’ll start letting me go outsides for longer periods of time, and I’ll gets to run around too instead of having to stay within sights of her and be brought back in rights away if I start to wander.

I was supposed to go outside and play this evening, but it rained.

Now, I knows, it’s really dry here in New Mexico, we’re in a bad drought and need all the rain we can get. I just wish it would have rained over night instead of in the day right when I was about to be let outside. It rained for a good time, and when it stopped, there were mud puddles and water collected on teh sidewalk.

You know what this means, right?

Mom concluded it was too wet outside for me to play and I’d get dirty and bring the mud and dirt in the house. This, of course, meant that Mom decided I wasn’t going outside today after all.

So not fair!

Why couldn’t Mother Nature decide to give New Mexico the rain it needs later this evening or yesterday? Why just when Mom was abouts to let me out to play? WHY?

It’s sprinkling outside now, and there is lots of thunder (scary!) and lightening now too. Of all the rotten luck.

She’s always said I’m an awesome mouser, and whenever I catch one of the mice that can be found in our kitchen, I bring it to her and she’s happy as can be!

But today, when Mom got off from work she stopped at the Dollar General, and for once I was not pleased. See, whenever Mom stops at the D.G. it’s because of three things:

1. There’s something very important that she needs but didn’t have the time to get elsewhere, or she forgot. Like toilet paper.
2. She wants to stock up on snack food that she can take with her to work and eat on her breaks.
3. She’s getting treats for her (ice cream, candy, sweet tea) and me (kitty treats, toys)!

So, needless to say, when Mom walks in with a yellow DG bag I always greet her all happy. But today, today those lovely yellow bags were harbingers of bad news.

Mom has lost all faith in my abilities as a mouser and has resorted to getting mouse traps. As I type this, Mom has set traps in the lower cabinets and locked the doors so I can’t get in. I’m figuring she’s going to put more elsewhere too.

I know the mouse problem has gotten bad Mom; I’ve tried so hard to catch ‘em all! I got two just last week even! This past week I only got one. We can’t even figure out why it’s gotten so bad here lately either. They were gone, and I only managed to find mice outside, but now they’re back inside and there’s a bunch of ‘em.

I think Mom got really really mad with ‘em though whens they got into her ramen. She was not a happy Mommy that day.

Still though, is that any reason to fire me? Now I’ll have to go and catch a bunch of those pesky mice to prove to Mom I’m still a very capable mouser. In the mean time though, I’m just going to go hide behind that big box of riding helmets and old riding clothes in the storage closet and mope. There’s a nice comfy pile of old clothes there with my name on it and right now I just want to hide and cry. I’ve been replaced by mousetraps!

Mom is very cruel.

Half the time she forgets to leave the tv on for me too. grrrrr. I can turn that on by myself though, so no worries there. Mom always gives me a funny look though when she realizes I dones this. She’s so weird.

Don’t gets me wrongs, I’m glad Mom has teh new job. I just don’t like the fact that she’s gone all day, leaves me all by myself, and with nothings to do. Thankfully, next week, she’s no longer training and won’t be doing the all day thing no more. I cant waits!
