But no, I was denied. She just stocked up on kitty food and got some more treats for us. In fact, the last time she went to the store I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. Nothing new, no real “treat”, no splurge. Is my Mom silly or what?

Mom, it’s not like I was asking you to buy Golden Eagle gold bars or one of those really expensive cat houses that take up the whole backyard and have tons of rooms and tunnels for kitties to play in and doggies cannot get to ‘em what so ever. Although that would be nice. Hint, hint, hint.

But why didn’t she buy anything special for me or even herself? She even won a giftcard for Wal-Mart from the place she donates plasma to. Still hasn’t used it either. Is my Mom sick or all humans like this?

So, yeah, no worrying about what kind of birthday treats for women would be good for my Human yet…but Christmas definitely. I’m thinking something yummy and tasty…but also something I’d eat too. You know, just in case she wants to share…or maybe she don’t like it but don’t want her gift to go to waste.

What do you think? What would be a good gift for my Mom?

But the other day Mom got a package in the mail and we were both very happy with the contents. Lookie:

It’s a very cool toy bird, and the best part is, it even chirps like a real bird too! So when I bite it like this:

It chirps in distress just like a real birdie would. Oh I has so much fun chewing, and biting, and tossing this guy around. I couldn’t wait to take it from Mom when she handed it to me either! As soon and it started chirping in her hands I knew it was mine and was gonna be fun.

Mom didn’t even buy this toy for me or anything. One time, while she was visiting Odor Independence Day looking for more information on Smart Scoop (a litter box that cleans itself!) she stumbled on a promotion to sign up and be entered in the daily give away of cat toys. Mom entered, though I don’t think she honestly expected to ever win, but lo-and-behold there was a package in the mailbox one day from Smart Scoop and in it was my new birdie toy! It even comes with a coupon for a discount on the Smart Scoop litter box too.

Mom has really been wanting to get one too. I loves my Mom dearly, but when it comes to cleaning the litter box she is most lazy and does not like doing it one little bit. It’s actually very funny to watch all the faces she makes! I hopes Mom buys one, it’ll be nice to have a clean litterbox all the time instead of making Mom do it.

Yuppers, I loves my new toy. And there is no way I’m gonna let my little brother play with it. Nuh-uh.

Well, Dr. Castro was a nice lady and the stabbing shots didn’t hurt too much….but still, it was horrible!

And of course Mom had to take pictures of the whole thing!

Here’s Mom trying to get me into the cat carrier before we leave for the vet. Ha! She wasn’t very fast and I tolds her what I thought about all this.

Alas, in the ends, Mom wins. At least she used the soft case, which is like a bag and has mesh on the sides for me to look out. It’s much cooler then the plastic one.

Even though this carrier was cooler it was still horrible going to and coming back from the vet’s office. Mom don’t have air conditioner in her car no more so it was very hot. Well, she had windows rolled down, but it was still hots. And there Mom was, dressed from head to toe in black clothes. Black jeans, black long-sleeved AC/DC thermal shirt. Ugh. And she didn’t seem to feel the heat at all. I don’t knows how she does that. But that’s Mom for you, she’ll wear dark colors and long sleeves even in 100+ degree weather.

I tried to escape on my own but it wasn’t working too well. And then the door began to open and in came Dr. Castro:

I really missed my big sister Isis. She was always really good at keeping me calmed down. I guess because she always treated these trips like it was no big deal. This was the first time I’ve gone on my own without big sister there and it just wasn’t the same at all without her.

I left a lot of hair on Mom for revenge though! And Mom got some kind of treat for me from the vet which I’m gonna get latter. Right now I’m enjoying a can of salmon and rice kitty food as my reward.

I guess, overall it wasn’t so bad….but boy am I glad this is over.

Until next year anyway.

Mom stopped at Petco on her way home from work today and she bought me some new canned cat food to try. I has never had this brand before, but hopefully it tastes yummy! She also bought me some new clothes. I thinks she wanted me to have something for the 4th of July which is what prompted this. Mom knows I’m not big on the clothes, but since she bought it and I already made her sad, I guess I can wear it without a fuss.

Yeah, I was a bad kitty today. I made Mom all mad first then sad. See that bag of treats up there in the picture? Well, I’ve been getting bad about coughing up hairballs lately so Mom must have thought treats that help with hairballs was a win-win situation. Well, she was wrong because those things don’t taste like treats at all – they’re not yummy at all and are actually kinda gross! I refused to eat ‘em and it upset Mom since these ones weren’t cheap at all. She let me have some of my regular treats instead, but I could tells she was still upset over it all.

Mom also says this is mine:

I thought she might be joking, but she’s serious – that’s all for me! I wonders what Mom will buy with it. More of my favorite treats? Maybe some of them Greenies treats which I haven’t had in a while? Ooh, or more canned cat food instead of the bag stuff? Or toys? Oh Mommy, you know how to make a kitty both very happy and feel very guilty at the same time! I must gives lots of purrs to Mom now so she knows I really do appreciate her gifts…even if one wasn’t what we thoughts it might be.

Worst yet, she put some of that premier dead sea body lotion she has on her legs, and she’s wearing shorts, so the scent rubbed off onto the computer chair. It’s not bad smelling…for being smelly stuff that humans put on their skin, but it’s still making me wanna sneeze.

My got some of that stuff for a gift, and she seems to like it, but she doesn’t use it very often. She “treats” herself with it and uses it sparingly. Most of the time she sticks with these simple lotions that smell funny and have funny names. One is named “baby lotion” but smells nothing like babies. The other sounds like it should smell yummy (cocoa and butter?) but doesn’t. Weird humans, can’t name things worth a darn.

Ah, but I’m getting sidetracked!

I gots to log in to SuperPoke! Pets though and I played with Natasha, she’s my online virtual pet. She’s a white little kitty.

Mom usually makes reaallly cool habitats for her pet that are so purrrrty. Mine don’t usually come out too good, but this time I made one that I am very proud of. It’s for the 4th of July; which is that holiday humans celebrate as this country’s birthday and they do this with lots of barbecues and loud booms. I have the habitat up already too! Them mousetraps that Mom bought the other day were snapping like crazy Saturday night. Including the one I mentioned, Mom caught a total of FOUR MICE on Saturday alone.

So not cool. Especially because she only let me have one, the one I blogged about. The others she just disposed of. What a waste of food! The traps were sprung six times, only two got away so Mom’s odds of catching mice is actually better then mine. But I’ve still caught waaaaay more then she has, overtime, so I’m still Top Mouser. Ha!

And to prove to my Mom that I am just as capable as ever of catching mice I caught me one just a little while ago:

I can has treats now please?

Mom has started picking up these treats from the Dollar General regularly for me and they are sooooo yummy-nummy. I am seriously addicted to ‘em. Like maybe the should make a detox program for kitties for them like they does for oxycodone percocet addiction detox, except not because these are good and healthy for kitties.

I am of course talk about Purina’s Whisker Lickin’s Tender Moments. They’re soft and yummy and Mom gets the chicken flavor ones which are sooooo good.

I’ve taken to being an extra good kitty so that I can entice Mom to give ‘em to me more often. I usually get a couple when she comes home. It’s her way of saying sorry for keeping me locked up in teh house alls day.

Yuppers, that’s right, the tote bag came in today! See:

This is their small size and Mom’s laptop barely fits it sideways. So Mom will probably not be carrying her laptop in it, but books yes and other stuffs too. Over all I likes it. The print quality came out pretty good, although I am bummed that the border on the pictures in the logo isn’t checkered like the image Mom submitted,but solid. Guess it was too fine a detail for them to see? But really, for a free bag, this is awesome.

That wasn’t all that came in the mail today! Mom also got a second catalogs from Red Envelope advertising their corporate holiday gift ideas. We’re still not sure how she got on their mailing list. It would make sense if Grandma was getting it, ’cause she gets a lot of magazines and catalogs for businesses and supplies and stuffs, but not Mom. Most of the stuff there is just really out of Mom’s price range to be giving as “business gifts” too. But, it does have pretty stuff and Mom gives it to Grandma so she can get ideas.

The other real gem in the mailbox was a letter from a friend of Mom. The human-woman seems nice, I only met her once briefly ’cause she lives out of town. But anyway, she won a free gift card to Petco from a raffle she entered, and since she no have furry-friends, she gave it to Mom! Mom was happy to get the letter ’cause she hasn’t heard from her friend in a while and it had pictures in it. I was happy with the giftcard – free food!!! I can’t wait ’till Mom goes shopping again.

Mom has used Vistaprint to order address labels, a mouse pad, and business cards for herself. She’s also bought a deposit ink stamper, personalized magnets, t-shirts, and pens for Grandma’s business too. Mommy decided to get herself a new tote bag and she used the logo she had made for the blog (’cause Mom’s advertised us a few times with fellow furry-bloggers ’round here!) and the logo has both a picture of me and my sister. Here’s a shrunk down version of the logo:

Now, when Mom goes out somewhere she’ll have both me and my sister with her. Isn’t that awesome? The tote bag should arrive in a week or so. When it does I’ll be sure to take pictures and post here!

To explain, the Duster we sampled was a “Mineral Oil Treated Duster”. The cloth is supposed to attract and collect the dust to it, instead of Mom’s preferred duster which throws dust in the air and makes her sneeze if she’s let too much dust pile up. Also, because the cloth is already “treated” you can skip polishes so there isn’t any build-up either. Here’s my video review of the duster:

I found that the cloth duster isn’t nearly as fun to play with as Mom’s current duster, but it does do a much better job then Mom’s! And despite being “oil treated” it’s not smelly or leave your paws and hands icky, which is good. BUT we found that it didn’t seem to do that good of a job on Mom’s metal bookshelves and the top of her filing cabinet. It didn’t get all the dust up right away and took a few passes, which hadn’t been the case with the wooden surfaces (desk, bookcase, headboard). It actually sort of pushed the dust around for a bit before picking it up. But it did pick it up so that’s good. I think Mom is considering switching to cloth dusters because they really are neater and easier on her sniffer. I’d miss the old one though!

I hope everyone liked the video review I did, I know I did! My Mom was bad though and neglected to tell me when she started recording there in the beginning so I was kinda staring off into space in the beginning.
