To explain, the Duster we sampled was a “Mineral Oil Treated Duster”. The cloth is supposed to attract and collect the dust to it, instead of Mom’s preferred duster which throws dust in the air and makes her sneeze if she’s let too much dust pile up. Also, because the cloth is already “treated” you can skip polishes so there isn’t any build-up either. Here’s my video review of the duster:

I found that the cloth duster isn’t nearly as fun to play with as Mom’s current duster, but it does do a much better job then Mom’s! And despite being “oil treated” it’s not smelly or leave your paws and hands icky, which is good. BUT we found that it didn’t seem to do that good of a job on Mom’s metal bookshelves and the top of her filing cabinet. It didn’t get all the dust up right away and took a few passes, which hadn’t been the case with the wooden surfaces (desk, bookcase, headboard). It actually sort of pushed the dust around for a bit before picking it up. But it did pick it up so that’s good. I think Mom is considering switching to cloth dusters because they really are neater and easier on her sniffer. I’d miss the old one though!

I hope everyone liked the video review I did, I know I did! My Mom was bad though and neglected to tell me when she started recording there in the beginning so I was kinda staring off into space in the beginning.

She saw an ad in the classifieds (that’s those papers that you can pick up for free to see what other humans are selling, animals missing and needing homes, and jobs available) and saw someone was trying to sell their phaser 8560 really, really cheap. It’s supposed to be a really awesome color printer and Mom’s old printer died a horrible and painful death a while back so Mom was very excited. This is apparently a printer that’s like worth a couple hundred dollars (green papers humans use to buy stuff) easy brand new. The ad had it listed at $50 and said it still worked good.

Mom called to make sure it was right and that they still had it. They did and the price was as listed so Mom arranged to go pick it up this evening when the woman selling it returned from her work.

The human lied to my Mom. When my Mom got there the printer they had wasn’t the one listed, but was still pretty awesome so Mom was willing to pay the same price. Then the lying human told my Mom she changed her mind after talking to friends and she wouldn’t sell it for less than $400. Mom was obviously very put out about this since that’s about the price of a BRAND NEW quality printer at an office store. My Mom tried to barter with her but the human insisted the price was reasonable so Mom said “not interested, see ya” and tried to leave. Now the human-woman got mad at my Mom and called her a liar and a thief who tried to swindle her and threatened to call the police on my Mom! I was sitting in the car and could hear the lady yelling at my Mom inside her house. It was scary. Eventually Mom came out looking like a kitty who got dunked in a tub full of cold water. Shocked and very mad.

I wanted to scratch that lady so bad, but Mom wouldn’t let me outta the car.

As Mom was leaving one of the human’s neighbors came running over and I thought he was gonna accuse Mom of something too. But he just asked if she was alright and tried to apologize for the human. Said that the woman has been selling stuff for a while now in ads and tries to rip people off when they arrive and then gets mad when people said “hell no!”. Said not to worry about it and assured my Mom the human was bluffing.

Well duh! My Mom didn’t do anything wrong, so why should she worry?

Still though, Mom was very upset over it all. I think she would have liked to hit the woman (I know I wanted to box her with my paws and give her a good scratch!!) but Mom didn’t loose her temper.

We stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home and I gots a can of wet cat food for a treat and Mom got herself some sort of chocolate ice cream with lots of chocolate chips and bits of cherries in it. So even though we’re still printer-less we’re happy. But that’s still not a trip I wanna repeat.

Off to curl up with Mom on the couch and watch a movie now!

I wants to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes. It really meant a lot to me and Mom during this rough time.

Mom and Isis were together for a longs time and while Mom’s human furriends know this they don’t seem to understand it or just lack any niceness about it. Isis was brought home and laid to rest here and the very next day one of Mom’s furriends broughts her a kitten. Mom was very upset over this. Said it was like they were trying to get her to replace Isis. The fact that the kitten was the same mix-breed as Isis and female too didn’t help. Mom tried to be nice about it and explain she just didn’t want another cat right now but some feathers were ruffled over the mess.

They weren’t the only ones either, but the only ones that actually brought a pet and tried force it on Mom. Mom’s friends have tried to get her to get a new pet and their ideas range from kittens, cats, puppies, snakes, spiders, even fish and ferrets! Mom is not amused.

Our house has under gone some changes now too. Mom has bought a couple more thumb drives from the weekly sales at Best Buy and backed up videos and photos of Isis on them, even though she already had copies burned on discs. Isis’ toys and clothes have been packed up in a box and placed in the closet. A couple of our beds have been boxed and stored in the storage shed too. They’re the ones Isis used mostly, ones I never slept on at all really. At first I was upset that Mom did this, it was like she was erasing Isis from our home. But I understand now that it’s more like Mom needs to do this to preserve memories and to let the wound heal.

I’m trying to be a good kitty for her and spend more time inside with Mom. I always like being outside for most of the day, whereas Isis stayed in all the time. But with Isis gone…well Mom looks lonely so I try to spend more times with her. I think I freaked her out the first day I refused to go outside and stayed by her side.

Some have asked if this blog will be deleted now that my sister is gone. I admit it was hard to sign in here now that she’s gone but I don’t wants to let the blog go. I think it would be insultin’ to Isis to do that. I don’t feel much like changing the look of it right now either. Gonna keep it the way it is for a bit longer at least. It’s Isis’ blog too, ya know? I just don’t feel right changing it around right now.

Again, thank you so much for being around for us everyone. It’s really meant a lot to us.

The doctors had said Isis was looking better last night, and that what caused her illness was not heart-related and likely a kidney problem, but they couldn’t be sure because they had to do a test after she was off the IV stuff.

I don’t gets it. Isis had improved and Mommy and I were going to go see her and wish her a speedy a recovery and now my sister’s gone and she’s not coming back. I want Isis to come back.

I, I’ll be back laters. Right now my Mommy needs me and isn’t handling things too well. Thank you to all our furriends who sent their love and purrs for us during this time.

Right now they don’t know what’s wrong. They’re running tests so Mommy has to wait for them to call her. What they did tell her wasn’t too good.

There is liquid in Isis’ lungs which was why she was having trouble breathing. She’s what the humans call dehydrated too so they have her on IV fluids and she’s in an oxygen tank to help with her breathing. They’re taking x-rays and doing other test-stuff and hope to have somethings to tell us soon.

My big sister is a lot older then me, she turns 15 human years this year in fact. The vet warns that right now it could be a lot of things, like heart problems, kidney failure, or something. I don’t think it is, I mean, it can’t be, right? Isis has always been pretty healthy and tough. So she’s gonna be okay right?

Mommy is really worried. Not only is Isis sick-sick and in need of help, but Mommy is worried over the bill. She put some down but doesn’t know how she’ll pay the rest of it as she’d just finished paying bills so what bit she has is gone. Lot’s of worries for Mommy and me right now.

I has to apologize for us not blogging in a while. Mom’s been busy with a side-job that has really eaten up her spare time. And since she works off her laptop, well, when she’s gone it’s gone and then we’re without a computer. But Mom’s been negligent with her blog too so we’re not the only bad ones!

Today isn’t looking too good for my big sister. She was okays yesterday in the day, even gots to go outside and lounge on the outdoor furniture, eat grass, and nap in the sun. Everything was fine!!! Then in the middle of the night she woke me and Mom up and started throwing up all over the place. First she threw ups food she ate then it was just gooey stuff Mom calls “bile”. Then she went to lay in her bed and just stayed there unmoving. Wouldn’t eat or drink, won’t move unless you touch her, and then it’s only a little move of her head. And if you try to touch her too much she kinda whine-growls at ya.

Now, Mom got really kinda worried and wants to take her to see Dr. Callista even though Mom really doesn’t have the money for it – but Isis is hiding. Mom thinks she’s under the couch or in the closet but hasn’t found her yet. Since Isis is now hiding we know she is really, really sick because when it’s just a kitty-cold or upset tummy Isis loves attention. But if she hides away, well then she has to be very sick. So Mom is kinda scared but trying not to be. She’s gonna give Isis another hour to come out on her own (’cause the vet isn’t open yet anyway) then she says she’ll have to haul her out. Mom is very worried because Isis is getting pretty old so every time she’s sick Mom is twice as worried as she normally would be. Not fun.

Hopefully Isis will come out on her and all will be okay, or Dr. Calista will just give her a shot or something and she’ll get all betters.

You see, she had a bunch of coupons to make grocery shopping easier, but she’s run into a bit of a problem. It seems like a lot of stores aren’t accepting or honoring coupons, even if they come from the merchant. Mommy had coupons chips, drinks, breakfast meat stuff, cereal, and a lot of other stuff. They’re all legitimate, even have barcodes so the cashier can run them over their barcode scanner, and come from signing up from online members clubs and stuff. Well, for some reason a lot stores aren’t taking them. Albertson’s grocery store will take some, but mostly just coupons they issue from their ads and stuff.

Wal-Mart seems to be the only place Mommy can get to accept coupons anymore.

Thankfully, the ones she had for canned cat food and some dry cat food were accepted. They’re from Special Kitty and Purina, and the Purina ones aren’t being accepted at Petco, Albertson’s, K-Mart, or Target around here either.

Poor Mommy, she tries to save some money and her efforts are being hampered. Some other humans on Twitter have mentioned having the same problems as well. Are any of your humans running into this?

First of all, because I gots a lot of fur Mom always does my furcuts outside. Well, it was windy off and on today so sometimes my fur was flying around and getting in the way and sometimes it was laying flat. Most importantly though, Mom has these little things that attach to the clippers to let the human doing the furcutting adjust how much (or little) fur they want to cut off. Mom couldn’t find those things, so she just went ahead and cut my fur without the attachment. So my fur got trimmed a lot more then normal!

The wind is blowing the fur on my neck up, so it looks worse there then what it is. Mom left the fur on my neck and tummy a little longer then the rest. She, of course, left my tail alone completely too! But my furcut is uneven and you can see lines too. Mom says she’ll fix it better tomorrow, but she was “tired of eating my fur”. I think the wind kept blowing the loose fur in her face.

I wanted to get these pictures up sooner, but first Mom had to hunt down the USB cord for the camera. She lost it and hadn’t been able to upload photos lately. Well…. she thought she lost it anyway. Turns out she didn’t, it was where it should have been after all, she just thought she hadn’t puts it there like she was supposed to and looked everywhere else. Silly human.

Then Mom got sidetracked looking around online at websites like insurancespecialists.com for the Old Man. He gots in an accident yesterday. Don’t worry, he’s fine! His truck’s not though and he’s kinda wondering if he might have to say bye-bye to his insurance place ’cause he’s had a lot of accidents and he’s old too. Like old, old you know. Apparently he thinks he’s gonna loose it so he asked Mom to look around online for him and get him some quotes and stuff. Mom thinks he may just have to tough it out. She’s certain his payment is gonna go up and she’s hopping he doesn’t loose it altogether.

Sigh. The Old Man just needs to be more careful when driving! He had Mom drive him around today too and tomorrow as well probably. Hope he gets his truck fixed soon. Poor Mr. Old Man.

It’s cooled down a lots now, which is why I’m up and about again. Well, kinda sorta. See, it’s windy, but the wind is really warm. But it is cooler then what it was before. It’s all dark and cloudy out now with lots of thunder and wind. Might gets some rain! Mom says since the temp is getting so high I’m gonna have to get a furcut soon. She’s gonna dig out the clippers and gives me a furcut tomorrow. I’ll be sure to post lots and lots of pictures to show you the befores and afters of it!

ETA: Electricity went out so no fan or air conditioning. Ugh. It’s as hot outside as in now.

Isis is very sad. So am I too, but I thinks Isis is taking it worse.

Yeah, Isis is sitting in fronts of the living room window and acting like she ain’t moving till Mom comes back. That’s gonna be a loooong wait ’cause she’ll be gone till Friday.
