First of all, because I gots a lot of fur Mom always does my furcuts outside. Well, it was windy off and on today so sometimes my fur was flying around and getting in the way and sometimes it was laying flat. Most importantly though, Mom has these little things that attach to the clippers to let the human doing the furcutting adjust how much (or little) fur they want to cut off. Mom couldn’t find those things, so she just went ahead and cut my fur without the attachment. So my fur got trimmed a lot more then normal!

The wind is blowing the fur on my neck up, so it looks worse there then what it is. Mom left the fur on my neck and tummy a little longer then the rest. She, of course, left my tail alone completely too! But my furcut is uneven and you can see lines too. Mom says she’ll fix it better tomorrow, but she was “tired of eating my fur”. I think the wind kept blowing the loose fur in her face.

I wanted to get these pictures up sooner, but first Mom had to hunt down the USB cord for the camera. She lost it and hadn’t been able to upload photos lately. Well…. she thought she lost it anyway. Turns out she didn’t, it was where it should have been after all, she just thought she hadn’t puts it there like she was supposed to and looked everywhere else. Silly human.

Then Mom got sidetracked looking around online at websites like insurancespecialists.com for the Old Man. He gots in an accident yesterday. Don’t worry, he’s fine! His truck’s not though and he’s kinda wondering if he might have to say bye-bye to his insurance place ’cause he’s had a lot of accidents and he’s old too. Like old, old you know. Apparently he thinks he’s gonna loose it so he asked Mom to look around online for him and get him some quotes and stuff. Mom thinks he may just have to tough it out. She’s certain his payment is gonna go up and she’s hopping he doesn’t loose it altogether.

Sigh. The Old Man just needs to be more careful when driving! He had Mom drive him around today too and tomorrow as well probably. Hope he gets his truck fixed soon. Poor Mr. Old Man.

Lizards are yummy, but the remains (after sitting in the sun all day) are so gross to look at. I hope that lizard’s family were no longer getting life insurance quotes and had gotten an actually policy for him….or her….before today.

But wait, that’s not all! Denali had a catnip mouse she was playing with earlier, brand new too, just taken out of the package of six, and she’s shredded it already. The remains are all over the living room floor and now Mommy has a mess to clean up. Then, Denali knocked over our water dish in the kitchen and spilled the water into our food dish. The end result? Wet floor with kitty-paw prints and soggy cat food.

If that wasn’t enough, Denali then got into the cabinet beneath the bathroom sink, knocked over a bunch of smelly human bath stuff, and pulled out a couple of rolls of toilette papers. She shredded those too, and they mixed with some of the smelly bath products and made a mess that Mommy had to clean up too. Just a few minutes ago, Denali found a roach and decided to chase after it…over the kitchen counter, stove, and into the sink where she cornered and ate it. In the process though, she knocked over some dirty dishes Mommy had sitting by the sink (nothing broke though!) and managed to singe the fur on her tail….again.

And all of this was just today. What kind of chaos will she cause tomorrow?

Denali thinks Mommy’s friends are funny. Here’s a news flash: Mommy’s friends aren’t funny, not in the least.

Since it’s getting pretty warm now, Mommy mentioned that she’d be giving Denali a furcut soon. This way Denali’s long fur doesn’t get all tangled in stuff when she’s outside more in the summer and also to keep her from getting too hot. Even though Denali doesn’t really like the process she always loves the results and is very happy to have her furcut for her. Mommy is thinking of doing it next week or the week after, if the temperature keeps getting warm.

Last year, here’s how much fur Denali got trimmed off:

Mommy gave me a trim once and I hated it. I looked nekid and everyone kept laughing at me when they saw me. Sure some went on to say I still looked like a pretty kitty, but they laughed at me. Well, one of Mommy’s friends, who also seems to think I’m an evil kitty and he always calls me “the attack-cat” suggested Mommy find the kitty-equivalent of www.hairgrowthshampoos.net to make my fur longer so I could get my furs cut too.

I now hate him very, very much. Much more then I used to too. I took great pleasure in sharpening my claws on his leg while he was here earlier.

But, in the end, I think he won this battle because Mommy listened to him. No, she’s not going to try and make my furs longer. Instead Mommy is going to give me a “little trim” along with Denali this year. Mommy seems to think it’ll help my fur to grow back nicer if I get a little trim. That and she’s got this thing about me cleaning too much (she always says I clean too much) so I think she really wants to do this to cut down on my cleaning. No fur to clean equals no cleaning maybe? It’s not like I get a lot of hairballs you know.

When that day comes, I plan on hiding like this:

Mommy says it’ll just be a little trim to keep my fur nice and help it grow back healthy and that I “won’t even be able to tell” ’cause it’s just a little bit going bye-bye. But you know what? I don’t believe her and I don’t want my furcut. Denali needs a furcut, yes, I agree totally. But me, I’m a pretty kitty. I don’t need furcuts!

I’m gonna get my revenge on him when he next visits Mommy. Attack-cat huh? I’ll show you attack-cat Mr-Your-Cats-Are-Evil. Oh yes, revenge will be mine!!!!

Isis: Denali wanted to use a picture of her, but by following the rules of the tag, the lucky photo features just me!

Denali: Isis just didn’t wants to share the limelight, she could have been nice and picked photo #9 or #11 so we could use a photo with both of us. But noooooo.

Denali: This photo was taken back at the end of February or the beginning of March of ’09 so it’s about a year old! Not too sure on the exact date because Mom tends to let photos sit on the camera for a bit and when they get uploaded to the computer the folder name is the date the photos were uploaded. Looking at the other pics in the folder this pic was taken right before Mom gots laid off. So February probably. Despite some problems, Mom was very happy and doing well and excited. There are lots of pictures of us doing anything from just napping, playing, or just sitting still.

Isis: Mommy even has a lot of pictures of random stuff too. Trees in bloom, skies full of clouds, a tree swaying in the wind, yuccas, prairie dogs, roadrunners, cacti, sunsets, lizards, and other stuff that caught her eye, or just trying to catch something that caught her eye at the best possible angle. Denali, when she was younger, hated it when Mommy took pictures and always made sure to get up and turn away or cover her face. She’s very patient with Mommy now though and is the more photogenic between us. I get frustrated easily when Mommy is snapping a lot pictures of me. Especially indoors because of the flash. In this picture I was getting frustrated and trying to bat the camera to get Mommy to stop taking pictures.

Denali: Looking at the next pics, Mom musta took pity on Isis and gone to take pictures of other random stuff for a bit before coming back to us and taking more pics. Both me and Isis were trying to sleep on the bed at the time. Even though Mom used to annoy us with how many pictures she could take in a day (good thng she has a digital camera and not a films one) she was pretty happy. She was making big commission, despite her cut hours sometimes, and hours had started to pick up again. That plus the commission she made meant Mom was earning a lot and saving up big time.

Isis: Then Mommy’s work laid people off and then soon Mommy had bills she couldn’t pay and lots of worries. It’s been a rough year for Mommy and it’s still tough. Denali and I would love to go back in time to when Mommy was doing so good. Seeing Mommy stressed, budgeting everything, and cutting corners where she can to keep us fed and taken care of is sad. I no longer mind Mommy taking lots and lots of pictures of me, even when she wakes me up from a nap just to hug me or snap a picture, because at least for that moment Mommy seems happier.

Denali: So the story for us behind this photo is to appreciate every moment with loved ones. *nods* Each moment is precious!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Wordless Wednesday

But that’s not why I’m bringing this old subject back up. I’m bringing this back up because I found something on Mommy’s camera I just had to share with you:

Mommy took a picture of a wet Denali!!

Denali’s coat is really thick so it takes a lot of water to really get her wet for Mommy to work her fur into a proper lather. This means Denali’s baths are always longer then mine.

Denali is probably thinking about those flyers we get in the mail from a local travel agency (that Mommy always throws away) advertising Cancun vacation packages. Well, she’s probably thinking about it again now too because Mommy will be giving her another bath in a few minutes. Denali came in from outside with all kinds of mud, sticks, and leaves stuck to her. She looks more like a doggy then a kitty right now.

Hah! Revenge of the Pretty Kitty!

Apparently Mommy found a flea hopping around on one of the cat beds. After killing it dead Mommy decided it was time Denali and I got another flea bath.

I would like to take a moment to remind our readers that I am not the kitty who goes outside all the time and rolls in the dirt. That….honor belongs to Denali. But now I too am being made to suffer. grrrrr

Once Denali heard the dreaded B-word she ran and hid. Coward! Traitor! Boo! Hisss!

Mommy decided we’ll take our baths tomorrow as it’s late and she doesn’t want me getting sick since it’s cold. How kind.

Denali, I know you’ll come out of hiding some time tonight when Mommy goes to bed. I hope you see this post and know how very, very mad I am with you right now. As the humans would say, get some term life insurance because you’re so dead.

So what did I catch you ask? I gives you some hints:

It’s a gopher! Or at least it was a gopher. They taste very yummy and are very filling. Probably not the best thing to eat though if you’re wanting to lose belly fat though.

I think my eyes were bigger than my tummy though because I couldn’t finish eating him. Oh well, leftovers are nice too.

In the past Isis has usually had the better outfit and gets more “oohs” and “aaws” then me. But not this year! Mom likes to do this thing called “cosplaying” which is what humans do when they dress up as their favorite characters from different shows. Mom does cosplay for different anime sometimes and so I decided to steal a page from her book! Behold, the Demon Eyes Kyo:

This guy is the main character from an anime that Mom has called Samurai Deeper Kyo. He’s supposed to have scary red eyes and be a really bad-ass swordsman with long red hair. He makes people pee their pants. At the beginning of the anime though he got hit with a comet (yeah, it took a comet to take this mofo out) and somehow his personality wound up in the body of this dorky brown haired guy who, in real life, would probably be a poster child for acne treatment commercials. He’s a geek and a coward. But then he snaps and Kyo takes over the body and his eyes turn red. They then go on a quest to get Kyo’s body back.

But anyway, I have decided that I shall be dressing as Demon Eyes Kyo for this Halloween. See, I’ve been practicing my look too:

See! I’ve got the scary look down and even my reflection is spooky. Buwahahaha!! I just need the costume now. I play on greeting the trick or treaters like this. I hope I can make ‘em pee their pants like Kyo.

I was thirsty and Mommy had allowed our water bowl to run dry. Now, because I am a talented kitty, I picked up how to move the kitchen’s Delta faucet to get water. It’s very easy, just push the long handle and water comes out. Not at all like the ones in the bathroom that you turn. Those are hard to move. Denali can’t do this of course, because she’s a little slow, so if the dish runs out and Mommy is busy and Denali isn’t patient she has to wait until I open the faucet for her.

Of course Mommy doesn’t like it when I don’t put the faucet back for some reason. I don’t see why I should. Don’t humans have things called fountains that give continuous water? Isn’t that what I’m doing?

Well, when I pushed the faucet this evening to get some water to come out Denali jumped up and knocked me off my perch on the edge of the kitchen sink – and straight into a sink full of dirty dishwater! I was so mad. And of course Mommy came in just in time to see me hop out of the sink, sopping wet with soapy water and the faucet running full blast. Mommy doesn’t seem to believe me when I say it’s all Denali’s fault. She scolded me for being where I shouldn’t be and said I should tell her when our bowl runs dry like Denali does.

Why did I get in trouble? I didn’t do anything wrong! To make matters worse I get a bath tomorrow now too!
