But that’s what makes the game so fun! Watching Mom get worked up over the game is half the excitement. Yuppers. Even folks who hate football and would say something insulting like “watching infomercials that give diet pill reviews is more interesting than football” would enjoy watching when the Cowboys are playing if Mom was around. Poor Ichigo though, he didn’t know what to think really about Mom. She don’t get that worked up with the other games after all.

Mom is still very much of the opinion that the ‘Boys would do so much better if they’d get rid of Romo. And tonight’s game did little to change her mind on that.

Still, until the end there, it was a good game and the food we had for dinner was excellent too! I loves football season.

And she’s not spending time working either. Well, at least not much time working. She’s been plying this thing called Super!Poke Pets. And I admits, it is fun and addicting…’cause I maybe kinda sorta have my own pet too that I play with once and a while…but Mom has been really spending lots of time playing it lately.

Silly human. You have to shampoo the carpet, fix the screen door (that I may have sort of torn) fix the leaky sink pipe, and give every room a good cleaning, before the family comes to eat the yummy turkey!

Speaking of computers…are there any good sales on external hard drives and USB drives for Cyber Monday? Mom has been eyeing the Black Friday ads that have been released, but nothing she’s seen is worth camping out or standing in the cold for hours in line for. Hence, she’s hoping there’s some Cyber Monday sales worth checking out.

And did you see? The Cowboys won!!! Oh, my Mom is so, so happy right now. Her ‘Boys are backs in business.

I’m hungry now and Mom is still abed. She’s acting like she’s deep asleep (like when she’s taken sleeping pills the night before and is still groggy) but she’s actually wide awake. It’s just kinda cold in the house and Mom don’t wanna get outta the warm blankets.

I don’t blames her, really I don’t. I mean she’s even got me wearing my hooded jacket and I’m not complaining about it.

But see, I’m hungry now and if she don’t get up, well, I’ll just have to feed myself.

Mom don’t like it when I do that because, apparently, opening bags and cupboards in search of food is naughty.

But if Mom don’t get up soon I can nots be held responsible for my actions. I’m growing kitty after all, a growing kitty with a little tummy. I must have food and I must haves it NAO.

This is their small size and Mom’s laptop barely fits it sideways. So Mom will probably not be carrying her laptop in it, but books yes and other stuffs too. Over all I likes it. The print quality came out pretty good, although I am bummed that the border on the pictures in the logo isn’t checkered like the image Mom submitted,but solid. Guess it was too fine a detail for them to see? But really, for a free bag, this is awesome.

That wasn’t all that came in the mail today! Mom also got a second catalogs from Red Envelope advertising their corporate holiday gift ideas. We’re still not sure how she got on their mailing list. It would make sense if Grandma was getting it, ’cause she gets a lot of magazines and catalogs for businesses and supplies and stuffs, but not Mom. Most of the stuff there is just really out of Mom’s price range to be giving as “business gifts” too. But, it does have pretty stuff and Mom gives it to Grandma so she can get ideas.

The other real gem in the mailbox was a letter from a friend of Mom. The human-woman seems nice, I only met her once briefly ’cause she lives out of town. But anyway, she won a free gift card to Petco from a raffle she entered, and since she no have furry-friends, she gave it to Mom! Mom was happy to get the letter ’cause she hasn’t heard from her friend in a while and it had pictures in it. I was happy with the giftcard – free food!!! I can’t wait ’till Mom goes shopping again.

You see, she had a bunch of coupons to make grocery shopping easier, but she’s run into a bit of a problem. It seems like a lot of stores aren’t accepting or honoring coupons, even if they come from the merchant. Mommy had coupons chips, drinks, breakfast meat stuff, cereal, and a lot of other stuff. They’re all legitimate, even have barcodes so the cashier can run them over their barcode scanner, and come from signing up from online members clubs and stuff. Well, for some reason a lot stores aren’t taking them. Albertson’s grocery store will take some, but mostly just coupons they issue from their ads and stuff.

Wal-Mart seems to be the only place Mommy can get to accept coupons anymore.

Thankfully, the ones she had for canned cat food and some dry cat food were accepted. They’re from Special Kitty and Purina, and the Purina ones aren’t being accepted at Petco, Albertson’s, K-Mart, or Target around here either.

Poor Mommy, she tries to save some money and her efforts are being hampered. Some other humans on Twitter have mentioned having the same problems as well. Are any of your humans running into this?

Mom came home from the seminar-thingy she wents to yesterday evening annnnnd she brought home foods from this place called Famous Dave’s that she didn’t finish eating. And There Was Chicken.

Mom did not share this chicken with us.

She did not share the rib either.

I was a little upset, but Mom gave us a treat after she’d finished eating her food and played with us then apologized for leaving us all alone yesterday. She didn’t get home ’till around 10pm and she left at 5am. She was gone a loooong time. We forgives her of course.

Well, Isis is still upset up about the no-chicken thing. Hehe, Isis loves her chicken.

Right now Mom is in the bathroom, putting on all that smelly stuff like her lotion and spray stuff and even teh new natural acne cleanser she’s using now. She’s kinda obsessed with her face for some reason. I dunno why, my Mom is pretty no matters what so I don’t understand the fuss.

She’s supposed to get home earlier today. I hope she does. Being cooped up with Isis all day is so not fun. I want to go outside and play! Be careful today Mom and have fun! And please hurry home so I can go outsides and play.

Oh, and some chicken would be nice too. Or tuna. Or milk.

Mommy woke up really early today too. She’s already filled our food and water dish for the day too. Denali thinks it’s too early to get up though and isn’t budging from the couch. Mommy had to wake up early because El Paso is about an hour’s drive away, she’s meeting up with Grandma who is driving, and Mommy had to get ready too. Since the seminar is supposed to run from 8am to 5pm today, Mommy is busy making sandwiches to take with her and putting chips in baggies too. I immediately jumped up on the table to give Mommy a hand.

First we had to clear the table off though because Mommy left all the mail scattered on it. But after that was done, she gave me some scritches and asked if I wanted to help. Of course I did! Mommy made me get off the table though, but I did get to be her offurcial food tester. The sliced ham and beef she used in her sub sandwich was delicious!

After Mommy finished making the food, she put it in her purse (it’s big, green, and black, I’ll have to take a picture of it sometime) and then put her stuff in the car. I don’t really want to stay alone all day in the house so I tried to convince Mommy to take me with her by hopping into my seat.

Sadly, Mommy said I couldn’t go and took me back into the house.

I hope my Mommy will be okay without me, sometimes she does silly things and if I’m not there to watch out for her, well who will? I am glad to see that Mommy isn’t taking that slimquick stuff anymore though. It was left her with an upset and queasy stomach. I wouldn’t want her to be stuck in a seminar all day feeling like that! She didn’t even have one of her slimfast drinks either. Instead Mommy had a piece of toast, a yogurt, and some fruit. Mommy still needs to finished getting ready though, and to straighten her hair; I think her curls look pretty, but Mommy prefers her hair straight and “manageable” when she has the time. Still though, Mommy is off to a good start today. I’m proud of you Mommy!

After that Mommy and The Old Man did something to the refrigerator too. This took a while and involved a lot of cursing but I think they succeeded…eventually…in whatever they were doing. Some humans came over and made a racket too. They were honking and didn’t come up to the door so Mommy had to go see what they wanted. She wasn’t very pleased either, since they were working in the kitchen at the moment, and the humans were so loud! Why do humans have to honk when why come over and make all that noise? So rude.

After a while Mommy got them to leave though. She looked very tired at the end of everything, what with the kitchen and uninvited guests, so she put some food in the “crock pot” to cook and that’s gonna be dinner. It’s smelling good already but she says it’s not ready. Since Mommy was tired I decided to let her lay down on the bed and take a nap with me for a bit.

Aren’t I a nice kitty? I can’t wait until the food is ready. It smells so good. Mommy calls it a “potato ham bake”. All I care about is that there is ham in there and I saw her grating cheese too. Yummy!

It’s a very fun process to watch and this year it was more interesting because Mommy did it all by herself without Grandma’s help. I’m so proud of Mommy! First up of course was the meat preparation I mentioned earlier. After that was done Mommy selected some dried red chili that she cleaned and put in a pan to soak for a bit.

She then put it into this machine humans call a “blender”. It’s loud, looks like a big picture sitting on a block, and doesn’t blend so much as chop, dice, and shred anything that gets put into it into teeny tiny pieces. Very scary thing, don’t get your paws or tails in it!

After that she poured some of the chili into this funny pan that has holes on the bottom and a handle that spins around. She used this funny pan to crush the chopped up and wet chili to get the pure sauce and leave the pulpy remains separate.

In a large, very, very large, pot Mommy added a lot of water, three big cans of hominy and spices. She put a lot of spices so I can’t tell you what exactly they are sadly. I just know she had quite a few jars spaced out on the counter. I did recognize Oregano in there though. The nose knows this.

She let that cook for a little while before adding in the chili and meat and then let everything set in the pan for a while and allowed it to boil for a bit before bringing it down to what humans call a “simmer”. There was lots of steam in the way of this shot.

Eventually it was ready, and as you can see, it has a good amount of meat in it and is very tasty looking.

Denali likes it regardless of the chili but Mommy doesn’t like to let her eat it that way. Instead Mommy always takes some of the meat out for us and sets it aside. Well, she also sets aside some hominy too but only Denali eats that. For the weight conscious I’m not sure if you have to worry about taking fat burners after eating this or not. All of the chili makes it healthy for humans I think and the meat is strained but some fat has to be in there regardless.

Aside from my wonderfully warm, and PINK!, hoodie, I also got a new stuffed mouse to play with, same kind as Denali’s though. I expect she’ll be trying to steal mine soon. I got a new pink and black bandanna as well. That was all from mommy. Grandma bought me a large case of my favorite canned cat food, they have greens and herbs in them, plus two new pots of cat grass. I also got this kitty-goodie bag that is filled with cat treats and little mice. The old man bought me a new kitty blanket for my bed, since it’s winter, and some of mommy’s friends got me gift cards for Petco. Denali looked at hers kind of funny, I don’t think she really realized just how awesome it was to get $25 and $50 to spend on anything in the store.

The day after Christmas, I caught a cold. Mommy and Grandma were really confused about how that could have happened, since I had my hoodie on all day, the heat was up, and I was inside all day. Then Denali just had to show them the window that was cracked open in the old man’s room. And she just had to do it after I had gotten out into the backyard too. So yes, I was playing outside, and yes, I got sick because of it.

The winter is never a good season for me, I spend a lot of the time miserable and cold. So I should have known better than to go outside and play, but I couldn’t resist. The patches of still-green grass were calling to me. Not to mention the big pile of leaves in the backyard.

Unfortunately, my cold turned out to be just a little worse than normal, and mommy, in typical fashion, panicked and took me to see Dr. Calista. I tried to explain to both mommy and the vet that it was just a minor cold and everything would pass. But do humans listen to you? No. I ended up getting a shot and I had some icky medicine that mommy had to mix into my food.

Okay, I admit that I kept sneezing and wheezing a lot, and I felt very, very weak too. So the “cold” was a little worse than normal. But it was certainly not something they had to worry over. I’m just glad to be feeling better and running around again.
