Yea for Spring and the Outdoors!

Mom has gotten very self-concious about how she looks. She seems to think that she’s not loosing weight very well, especially since she’s not exactly able to stock up on the good foods like veggies and fruits ’cause they’re more pricey. I’ve been seeing her read a lot of sites that tell you tips and stuffs about how to reduce belly fat. Mom’s founds some stuffs that she thinks works.

I thinks she just needs to get outdoors more. I know that’s how I’m getting rids of the belly fat I gots over the winter.

Since I gets outside daily now and for longer periods of time I gets to eat more greens. Go greens! It’s so nice to have a green yard again.

I also get to do hunting now, which is good exercise, because lizards are fast, and you have to be light on your feet to get them birdies. No sign of birdzilla around here either so it’s birdie season! I tried to get Mom to hunt with me and told her it’s good exercise but she just laughs and pets me, then sends me on my way and watches me at it. Mom doesn’t seem to understand that it is not a spectator sport.

And of course, climbing and stretching is very helpful too. Strengthens your legs and gets the blood flowing. Plus it gives you a chance to sharpen your claws too. Great fun!

This is the way to exercise Mom, not those funny things you do called “crunches”. At least she’s got the running and walking part right. Ah, I’ll teach her how to exercise right someday.

Green and Not Green from a Cat’s Purrspective

One of Mommy’s human friends is very into this “green thing” that humans are getting excited over. I call her Green Human Lady. She likes to comment on Mommy’s lifestyle because Mommy isn’t very green. I could have told her that. Mommy likes black, purple, red, and blue. Of course she’s not going to be very green. She wouldn’t be Mommy if she was green. You know what I mean? But that Green Human Lady still bugs Mommy a lot. She sends emails, prints stuff, adds Mommy’s address to newsletters, and lots of other stuff. Mommy was checking her email earlier when she noticed a new email from Green Human Lady and it talked about something called a eco green mattress.

Now this is where I am really confused. Denali and I, when we’re outside enjoying grass and sun, enjoy green beds. Observe:

That’s my little sister Denali getting ready to lay down in her green bed. It’s comfortable, yes, but it gets old laying on grass all the time. Not to mention there’s dirt and you’re exposed to rain and what not. And sometimes the doggies do their, you know, business out there. You always have to make sure they didn’t go where you want to lay down.

Not to mention you might find something like this in your bed:

Yeah, any kitty knows that green beds have buggies in them. Fleas and ticks mostly but sometimes there are nastier things too.

Personally, I like Mommy’s bed just fine. It’s comfy, has nice blankets and comforters, and even has my Sammy the Seal too!

Mommy, please ignore your Green Human Lady friend. I like your bed just fine and don’t want to sleep on greens when indoors.

Day in the Sun

I tried to tell Denali that mommy is just a little…down…right now and that everything would be fine. But she didn’t believe me. Whatever mommy’s troubles though, she seems to be a little better today. She woke up very early and left before the sun even came up! She came home before 10am so I wasn’t worried much. Then she did something she hasn’t been doing lately, she took Denali and I outside for a bit and even settled down with a book to read too! It was so much fun to spend some time with mommy.

Of course Denali had to try to monopolize her by playing games in the clovers. But that’s Denali for you. Mommy knows my preferences well, she took me outside and settled herself in the shade of a tree while giving my leash enough slack so that I could wander in the sun.

I’ll never understand why humans need to shell out money that cold be better spent on treats and food on something like Outer Banks rentals. Why do you need to pay to go somewhere else when the warm touches the outside everywhere? Aren’t humans weird?

My only complaint is that mommy still doesn’t trust me to go outside without a leash on. If I do get to go outside without one, then she’s hoovering over me. Otherwise, if I want to wander around or step away from mommy I have to go out on the extendable leash. Mommy thinks I get into too much trouble if I’m not on the leash and it’s all because of a few things too.

I fell off the roof once
chased some stray doggies who were in my territory and bothering mommy
I get stuck in trees, or the roof, and yowl until mommy gets me
get into fights with Big Mama, she’s grandma’s doggy

See…just because of that mommy keeps me on a leash. But Denali gets to run around all she wants until it’s time to come in. So not fair! Denali should have to be on a leash too. But whenever I try to tell mommy, she just pats me on the head and says she doesn’t want anything happening to her little old lady. *pouts*
