But, I don’t mind really, because then I get the whole bed to myself!

This my furriends, is how you spend your Sunday. Mom, take note.

Isis: Denali wanted to use a picture of her, but by following the rules of the tag, the lucky photo features just me!

Denali: Isis just didn’t wants to share the limelight, she could have been nice and picked photo #9 or #11 so we could use a photo with both of us. But noooooo.

Denali: This photo was taken back at the end of February or the beginning of March of ’09 so it’s about a year old! Not too sure on the exact date because Mom tends to let photos sit on the camera for a bit and when they get uploaded to the computer the folder name is the date the photos were uploaded. Looking at the other pics in the folder this pic was taken right before Mom gots laid off. So February probably. Despite some problems, Mom was very happy and doing well and excited. There are lots of pictures of us doing anything from just napping, playing, or just sitting still.

Isis: Mommy even has a lot of pictures of random stuff too. Trees in bloom, skies full of clouds, a tree swaying in the wind, yuccas, prairie dogs, roadrunners, cacti, sunsets, lizards, and other stuff that caught her eye, or just trying to catch something that caught her eye at the best possible angle. Denali, when she was younger, hated it when Mommy took pictures and always made sure to get up and turn away or cover her face. She’s very patient with Mommy now though and is the more photogenic between us. I get frustrated easily when Mommy is snapping a lot pictures of me. Especially indoors because of the flash. In this picture I was getting frustrated and trying to bat the camera to get Mommy to stop taking pictures.

Denali: Looking at the next pics, Mom musta took pity on Isis and gone to take pictures of other random stuff for a bit before coming back to us and taking more pics. Both me and Isis were trying to sleep on the bed at the time. Even though Mom used to annoy us with how many pictures she could take in a day (good thng she has a digital camera and not a films one) she was pretty happy. She was making big commission, despite her cut hours sometimes, and hours had started to pick up again. That plus the commission she made meant Mom was earning a lot and saving up big time.

Isis: Then Mommy’s work laid people off and then soon Mommy had bills she couldn’t pay and lots of worries. It’s been a rough year for Mommy and it’s still tough. Denali and I would love to go back in time to when Mommy was doing so good. Seeing Mommy stressed, budgeting everything, and cutting corners where she can to keep us fed and taken care of is sad. I no longer mind Mommy taking lots and lots of pictures of me, even when she wakes me up from a nap just to hug me or snap a picture, because at least for that moment Mommy seems happier.

Denali: So the story for us behind this photo is to appreciate every moment with loved ones. *nods* Each moment is precious!

That’s why Mom was running around the house gathering up all the trash she could find and making sure it gets put out now. Including the custom cardboard boxes from the place she orders fancy coffee and tea, stacks of old magazines and newspapers she never got a chance to really read, and of course, making sure the trash bins in the kitchen and bathroom are emptied out.

Mom let us go outside for a bit too. I think she just wanted us out of the way so she can take things out easier. Mom dropped a box on the lawn and me and Isis claimed it for us. Because boxes are just that cool.

Isis usually likes to play in boxes with me too, but she just wanted to eat some grass. Mom doesn’t let her out nearly as much as me so she’s outside-deprived. *nods* Poor thing. But then, my big sister is getting old and Mom just doesn’t like her being outside on her own or unsupervised for long anymore. I think it has something to do with the time Isis rolled off the roof. Yeah, my big sister is a little…silly…you could say.

Since Isis didn’t want the box I tooks it and made it into a perfect napping spot just for me! Before I could curl up and sleep though I had to make sure it was secure and that Isis wasn’t gonna pounce me when my guard was down. So I checked it outs first.

After deciding that my box was indeed very safe (ands comfy!) I settled in for a nice nap.

My nap got interrupted though when Mom came and picked up the box to load it in the big trash bin. *sigh* I’m glad she realized I wuz ins it before throwing it though! Mom wasn’t made at all, just scritched my head and called me a cute kitty before lifting me from the box and putting me on the sidewalk. Now Isis and I are back inside and will probably be stuck inside for the rest of today and probably tomorrow too.

Mom doesn’t like sharing the road with other cyclists and joggers, and since Mom don’t have no work out stuffs like treadmill or elliptical machines Mom does a lot of bike rides, jogging, and walks in the mornings and evenings when people aren’t outs and abouts. During the day, or whenever, she does all the funny stuff like push ups, weights, and sit-ups at home.

Clearly no one told Mom that Saturdays are meant for sleeping though. Same for Sundays too really. She got up way too early to go for a bike ride and do her exercises. Then drank a lot of coffee. Barely gave me time to eat with my big sister before she scooped me up and we were out the door. Apparently Mom is helping the Old Man out in his wood shop so I get to stay in the old house today while they’re working.

What a relief! Now I can finally goes back to sleep!

See, Mom keeps one of her fleece throws on the computer chair and this morning, before she left, she placed her pajama pants there. The chair is always comfy and warm but it was especially nice and cozy today ’cause of the fleece and pajama pants so I picked that for my nap spot. But nooo, Mom had to come home and kick me off it.

See, doesn’t it look comfy? Ah, and Mom’s pjs have pictures of the funny Jack Skellington from the Nightmare Before Christmas so they’re really, really neat.

And you know why Mom kicked me off the chair? She was in a hurry to get on the internet to check, according to the history, a site that claims to have home remedies for blackheads. She printed stuff too but then she left right away and went down the street to our neighbors. I think she was getting the information for someone else. She should stop being so helpful to the neighbors that do nothing for us and whose nasty dogs keep coming over here.

I can’t believe she kicked me off my nap spot just for that. And now there’s a bag in my spot so I can’t nap there till it’s moved.

Maybe I can knock it off….

It didn’t happen.

She started changing into the clothes she wears when home and tossed her other clothes on the bed, on top of me no less, and where I was trying to sleep. Eventually she picked them up and then she spotted me. She picked me, gave me a hug and asked me if I missed her. I was a nice kitty (of course) and said that yes, I did miss her. Even though I really wanted to say no because I was having a nice sleep. She then put me down, on the floor, and proceeded to curl up under the blankets on the spot I had been. So rude!

So instead of getting to sleep in my nice cozy spot like I was, I got regulated to the bottom of the bed and had to make do with what covers were left. And did I mention that Mommy put me outside today, all day, and I didn’t even get to see her again before she left? Yes, she abandoned me today! Mean Mommy. Makes me almost wanna investigate those package deals for Florida vacations (or somewhere equally far) to send Mommy so that I can sleep in peace. But I would miss her if she left for long and that far away. What’s a kitty to do?

So despite the fact that it was hot out, I demanded to go outside anyway. There was no way I was loosing my chance to be outside on a day that it’s sunny and not windy.

Since it was so hot out I stayed in the shade on some comfy greens that made my nap spot soft and cool. I didn’t do much playing, just some lazing about and enjoying the sun, but I did have fun. Mommy didn’t think my “fun” was very nice though. Shizuku was in the spot I wanted to lay down at, so I chased him off. A little bit of exercise and a lot of fun for me.

See Mommy, it wasn’t so bad. Shizuku found a nice spot to laze about too:

For a dog, Shizuku’s alright. He treats me like royalty and generally gives into my demands. Not to mention, if I so much as look at him wrong he runs away.

I still don’t like it when Mommy says he’s my “little brother” though. He may be younger than me, by several years I might add, but he’s not my brother. He’s more like a friend (not that I’ll ever tell him that) than a brother. *shudders*
