Well, as you can guess, he wasn’t too happy and started yelling at our mommy. I was so mad I wanted to bite and scratch him. I almost did too, but mommy sent me to my room so Denali and I watched from the doorway. Mommy’s friend, who we shall call Mean Smoke Guy, couldn’t understand what the big deal was because mommy doesn’t mind smokers and will smoke from time to time. Mommy told him that she smokes outside or around others who don’t mind and that she never smokes when we’re around. He actually laughed at mommy and told her she was stupid for worrying about us! Mommy gave him The Look and he flinched then she told him that since he’s always bragging about all the traveling he does and the free hotel stay points he’s accumulated because of it he can go rent a hotel room. Mean Smoke Guy whined and said he didn’t have money and that it was late (this happened around 9pm) and mommy just said “tough luck”. He was packed and out the door in a few hours.

Denali and I ran to the windows and watched him leave. It was a very happy moment for us. I was kind of sad though that mommy had to kick her friend out, especially since he’s down on his luck too, but if he can’t respect us and mommy’s rules then it’s his own fault.

Ironically I saw a news article today that states that smokers may quit smoking for their pet’s health. I somehow doubt that guy will. I mean really, he called Denali and I “dumb furballs”. He’s a very selfish person and obviously doesn’t care about anyone. I hope he doesn’t ever have pets or kids.

Do your humans smoke around you? Our mommy doesn’t. She goes outside or she has us stay in one part of the house while she’s at the other side of the house. In that case, we won’t be allowed over there until the house is completely aired out. Of course, she doesn’t smoke very often. We only see her with a cigarette when she’s very stressed out. Either way, our mommy is careful to keep us away from second-hand smoke because she loves us and is considerate. Unlike Mr. Mean Smoke Guy.
