Despite being the oldest I am definitely the “baby” of this family. I’ve worked very hard ensure my Mommy spoils and pampers me at every turn. When I want food I get it right then and there, if I want to curl up on my Mommy or Grandma, no matter what they’re doing, they let me. In short, I have my humans very well trained. My needs always come first!

But now I think I might have them too well trained.

I had a cold last week. I kept sneezing, I couldn’t keep things down, and I slept a lot. Not really odd, I tend to get sick easy. This morning I went outside on the leash for a walk and the grass was wet. I was so excited because fresh wet grass tastes yummy. Then I sneezed. Sure it was several sniffles back to back and my nose got runny, but I was fine!

The way Mommy acted, you would have thought I was recovering from Mesothelioma treatment not a kitty-cold, something that I get multiple times a year without fail. So since the grass was wet, and I sneezed, in we went. Mommy dried off my paws, gave me some kitty vitamins then opened a can of my favorite cat food as an “apology for taking me outside when it was wet”. I wanted to be outside in the wet Mommy!

So now what do I do? How do I unbreak my Mommy of this suffocating behavior. Any suggestions?

I had a very fun morning today. First Isis was sneezing a lot, so much so that mommy was ready to call Dr. Calista and schedule a check up for Isis. I was laughing at her, ’cause even though Dr. Calista is a nice human, she’s still teh vet, and trips to the vet aren’t fun. Isis gets more trips then me too. But when I laughed I started sneezing too! Then mommy got that really weird look on her face that always makes us wonder what she’s thinking. When she gets that look her face goes completely blank, but if you look at her eyes, you can see that there are, like, hundreds of thoughts and emotions going on. She has a really good poker face.

After a few minutes, she made us some kitty-herb water, which we eagerly drank in hopes she wouldn’t take us to the vet, but we started sneezing again anyway. Mommy still had that blank look, but then she went to the computer and signed on the ‘net. After a few minutes she called us over, and guess what? We had mail! Lots of mail too, a lot of new furriends visited last night and this morning and left us wonderful comments, and Sniffie and the Florida Furkids even mentioned us at the Cat Blogosphere blog too!

Mommy explained that there is this human super…superstitches? …err… belief that when you sneeze randomly out of the blue, people are talking about you. Mommy says that’s what happened and that we’re not sick. I’m so glad mommy realized that we weren’t sick, I mean, we knew we weren’t, but she’s a worry-wart.

Thank you everyone for your welcomes and well-wishes!
